I don't care if we go 7-5 if it's mostly because of QB play. I appreciate Heupel firing Nico to the left coast when he tried to hold us hostage. . .
I think Aguilera will be as good, probably better than Nico, especially if our OL, wr, etc is improved. I kinda think Bishop is gonna be a lot better than expected too. Hopefully our defense can stay on par with last year. I think we're more likely to be 9-3+ than 7-5. . . . . . hoping that Aguilar can hit some deep throws.
My counterpoint isthe truth is somewhere in the middle. We'll be middle of the pack. Too much talent to be 11th, not enough to overcome losing your starting QB.
Redzone efficiency has killed us past 2 years..wish I could just find TDs, but alasWe'd have a different perception if we just hit half of the deep balls we missed.
Isn't a knock on Aguilar the number of interceptions he gives up?If Aguilar can hand the ball off without any major calamities and hit a wide open receiver on a deep route occasionally to keep the D honest, I suspect that our offense can be a steamroller with improved OL play.
Aguilar doesn't have to be great, but efficient and have minimal miscues.
The offense is definitely designed to limit them (or more accurately, its design limits them due to spreading the field so much). Nico had two flukey ones vs NC State in only his third-ever start and that ridiculously underthrown ball vs Vandy and still only had 5 total on the season.Fast on the trigger means he processes fast. We haven't had that since HH. If Heup can keep him clear of INTs, this may be a fun season.
