YepLittle rant:
I got voted to coach my towns 8U softball all star team. I brought the 2 assistants that have been with me all year. I’ve coached the majority of the girls team for 3 seasons now. Most of the parents know me and how we operate. No coming to dugout during games. I bring water and other necessities for the girls.
I’ve had parents whisper/yell at their daughters really mean things.
So tonight we have a scrimmage to get ready for district. Our third base lady missed a pop up. No big deal. After the inning is over I talk to her about getting under the ball and we will work on it more next practice. The dad comes over and yells at her, she starts crying. I ask his daughter to come to the fence and cheer on her team with the other girls. He says it’s my daughter she will come over there when I tell her. I ask her again to go and she does so. I ask him what good does that do during the game. He said if I coached better he wouldn’t have to say anything to his daughter. I told him if he doesn’t like the way I coach, there’s a form at the beginning of every year asking parents who want to coach. Told him to put in for it. These girls are 8 yo. Man it breaks my heart seeing these girls cry cuz a grownup yelling at them. Please don’t let that be any of
Us with our children.
Man. The odds that girl is going to keep playing softball into high school low. That dude sucks. I feel sorry for her.Little rant:

i've done 4-5 girls soccer, dance, and then 5yo teeball. soccer was rough, there were some annoying parents.Yep
Parents are psycho
My son is 2 and I’ve told my wife I’m not coaching anything bc parents are insane assholes when it comes to youth sports
Some of my friends have kids 5-17 and they all say baseball, softball, dance, youth football, the parents get way out of hand. It’s like they are trying to relive their youth.
I will say my buddy whose sons play soccer say they actually never have a any problems with parents compared to the other sports
I had a dad come out of the stands and threaten to kick my azz for taking his daughter out of the lineup with three minutes left in a playoff game. I was planning on putting her back in just resting her. A few months later he was DUI and rolled his truck with her in it unrestrained. Luckily only broke her leg. There were several other issues but that was the worst. I stopped coaching because of parents. This was 10U basketball.Little rant:

Basically all of those coaches have either won a NC as a head coach or they have won it as an assistant coach. That would be an incredible athletic department lol.
