Recruiting Football Talk VIII

It could of course surprise to the upside but that’s my opinion as of now.

Disagree with the bolded.

And you conveniently glossed over the qb/wr rooms.
I didn’t conveniently leave out anything. I was mostly speaking on positions I think are as good or better. I mentioned QB is an unknown but had more production last year (over 1,000 more passing yards right?), at a lower levels. Even WR has more talent than last year. Just young and thin.

OL
LT - Heard - NO reason he shouldn’t be better
LG - 3rd year Sham or Moe should be at least as good as Karic, better imo
C - Cooper was good and experienced, so we will miss the leadership but will be getting upgrade on athleticism
RG - Pendleton is an upgrade to me. Spraggins wasn’t very good last year imo
RT - Sanders or Warren or whomever has to be better than what we had last year

We have 4-5 star DL up and down and the Garner effect. I think besides Pearce we are more talented in the 2-deep

Who did we lose at S that is irreplaceable?

Looking at things realistically, we enter the season with an unproven OL and unproven WRs. We'll also have a QB who just started learning the system and only has summer camp to actually get out there and execute. Running backs could be good but have huge shoes to fill. And TEs probably rely on how hurt Kitselman is. It is very fair to say our offense is one huge question mark. It could be great. Or it could be bad. I certainly can understand why we would be picked at 8-4.

And I think a lot of how our defense does will depend on how well McCoy recovers and LB play. LBs need to take a step forward this season like secondary did last season. Definitely think we'll have to lean heavy on our defense.
Do you and other ear hairs talk about other novel ideas over black coffee and 1 waffle?
