No it won't. It's year 5. Injuries could easily derail us, but if we are reasonably healthy and go 7-5 that will be a tough look.I agree with this, but given his intensely selfish attitude (about which we only recently became aware), I also think we were headed to a 7-5 type season that no one would see coming.
Now, we face a 7-5ish season with backups and the App State QB, and we are all well aware and can set expectations accordingly
This may be the best thing that happened to Heupel - he averted disaster
If we exceed 7-5 this year, it will be a great achievement on his part
I think we're exactly as close to competing for the playoff as we are to 7 wins. Both are very unlikely. No it won't. It's year 5. Injuries could easily derail us, but if we are reasonably healthy and go 7-5 that will be a tough look.
Look, we haven't beaten UGA with Heup yet and we haven't beaten UF or Bama on the road since 2003. Can't expect us to win those until we prove we can. The rest of the games are all very winnable. It's still a tall task for Arkansas or Oklahoma to come into Neyland and win. Oklahoma's QB is average at best. Arkansas is a revenge game and they barely beat us in a game that we gift wrapped to them. Georgia is the only team that's done it since 21. Ms State is a massive rebuild. Cuse lost everything. We don't lose to Kentucky or Candy.
Schedule is very favorable.
I think we are still much closer to competing for the playoff than we are 7-5. Heup wins bawl games.
I don't know, a whole lot needs to go wrong for us to go 7-5I think we're exactly as close to competing for the playoff as we are to 7 wins. Both are very unlikely.
And none of Nico, Sampson, or most of our WR or OL are even returning this year lol.I don't know, a whole lot needs to go wrong for us to go 7-5
We just went 10-2 with Nico's terrible play, Sampson fumbling in the red zone, our whole WR core banged up, dropping passes, injured Lance Heard, and horrible offensive line penalties.
We will need all that to happen again and our defense get signficialy worse for us to go 7-5.
Yeah and odds are we just improved at QB...I mean the tape don't lie, Aguilar is better than redshirt freshman Nico. Not sure I'm buying the media hacks narrative basing things off losing Nico. With what we seem to know now, nobody was really fired up about playing with Nico. Aguilar , and possibly Merk or GMac in my opinion will be just as productive if not more so. Turning over the WRs? Bru wasn't the same, Thornton stayed hurt, Squirrel regressed, Brazell was inconsistent. Again, just as productive if not more so. OL will be better. RB you have 3 options to feel good about so you don't have to run one to death. I'm an optimistic person by nature, so I'll take 9 to 10 wins and an Offense that is less frustrating and much more fun to watch.
If we're just talking playing days, I'll take Magic.Ok, I've gotten several responses about my post pertaining to Larry Bird being the GOAT, so I'll address the group as a whole. I appreciate all the opinions that you have shared but you all are just horribly wrong. There's been great players but the Legend stands alone....Larry Bird is the greatest basketball player of all time. If you'll take just 5-10 minutes (depending on your reading level) to look at the attached article, you'll see that whatever "facts" you try to bring into the discussion will be dissolved by the following journalist.....

Larry Bird is the Greatest of All-Time - The Grueling Truth
Larry Bird: The greatest of all-time? It's amazing how infrequently a guy more dominant against better teams is compared to Michael Jordan & Lebron James......thegruelingtruth.com
We've wasted years in here arguing over "MJ or LeBron", when the discussion should have been either "Bird or MJ". Michael Jordan was great but the competition he played against was sub par compared to the Bird/Magic era. That's why you have to drop back a decade to find anyone to compare Jordan to. If you look at all the facts and listen to interviews of players from the 80s (the greatest generation of the NBA), you'll see there's really no discussion at all.
LARRY BIRD IS THE GREATEST BASKETBALL PLAYER EVER.

*Michael Jordan was never NBA Coach of the Year or NBA Executive of the Year. NEVER. Bird was a total basketball player. He played, coached, and managed at the highest level Truthfully, if you do some research, there is no Air Jordan or really.... no NBA without Larry Bird.... and Magic Johnson was also important but to a much, much lesser extent.
Lol we were not going 7-5, that’s laughable. And we still aren’t going 7-5.I agree with this, but given his intensely selfish attitude (about which we only recently became aware), I also think we were headed to a 7-5 type season that no one would see coming.
