Sitting AD's should not be on the committee.

They honestly just need to do away with the committee in general. Power 5 conference champs get automatic bids, next 7 get in based on AP poll, no byes, seeding is based on ranking at the time of the last AP poll (week 15 or whatever it is). And if you’re a conference champ and not currently in the Top 12, well then 12th place team gets booted for the champ and they’re at 12th seed. You gotta reward champs, but that doesn’t mean you need to give them a bye. And we don’t need a 14-team playoff. No one needs to see 5 more beat down, worthless games.

247 also showed a post-spring Top 25 heading into this season. Tennessee was not a Top 25 team. I would’ve thought UT would be somewhere between 15-25.

I believe On3 has the Vols at 17th...seems about right but 8th in the SEC...ugh!

I agree with this, but given his intensely selfish attitude (about which we only recently became aware), I also think we were headed to a 7-5 type season that no one would see coming.

Now, we face a 7-5ish season with backups and the App State QB, and we are all well aware and can set expectations accordingly

This may be the best thing that happened to Heupel - he averted disaster

If we exceed 7-5 this year, it will be a great achievement on his part
