Nah. It’s not “spoiled” to acknowledge mistakes. Nobody is perfect. TV is the best coach in college baseball, but he makes mistakes and will coach some teams better than others. It’s okay to acknowledge that. In fact…that’s the opposite of “entitled,” because I don’t expect Tennessee to dominate every season.

Yes, this team still has a great shot at Omaha. Watching them grow up is part of the fun of being a fan.

All that said, TV’s decision to try and play last night was a bad one, as was playing Curley at 3B in Baton Rouge. It’s okay to acknowledge that.

I think his point is that posters aren’t acknowledging mistakes. TV would be the one to acknowledge a mistake. Fans on a message board accusing TV of making mistakes and crapping on our players are just whiny armchair QBs…or starting pitchers or whatever.

Honestly, I’m 100% with OP. We have elite programs in nearly every sports. It’s amazing and should be so much fun. Yet so many on here can’t wait to take a dump on our guys and gals in Orange.

I’m turning into McGill.

There are “fans” who dump on the team and players. It was bad in 2023.

But this is a message board. We discuss the team and players. This team is in a slump, which means some of the things we discuss are negative, unless we’re just going to play pretend.

Let’s not conflate honest discussion with an eagerness to dump on the team. They’re two different things.

Reality is that if they lose this series they are 4 and 4 in SEC Series. SEC is beating themselves up right now with no clear best of the best as it changes every few weeks. Should make for an interesting post season. A month ago I thought any of 5 teams in the country could win it all this year. Now I think it may be closer to 10. Someone will get hot, hopefully we shat this last month out of our system in time…

Our base running is a serious problem. We run ourselves into numerous outs and out of potential big innings way too much.

My comments aren’t really directed at you. You’re a normal poster with good insight. But, there is a vocal group that is not engaging in honest discussion- they’re wallowing, happily, in any little thing that goes wrong. It’s obnoxious. I suppose they are trolls. Or maybe just miserable people.

Elite 8 - pfff not a natty, Barnes will never get there.

Made the first playoffs - CJH doesn’t care about winning.

Missed on any recruit or transfer - Spyre isn’t doing enough, probably keeping dollars.

None of that is honest discussion.

Yep. Rather be hot in June than right now.

I’ve seen enough college baseball to know that sometimes teams with less than elite regular seasons can often put it together in the postseason.

One thing folks don’t always think about…besides the fact that new players sometimes take awhile to gel into a team, sometimes it takes the coaches awhile to figure out their team and manage them accordingly.

The good news is, the talent is there…both with players and coaches. This team still has a high upside.

I can’t believe they’re leaving Philips in on bases loaded with a tie game. Dudes missing the strike zone by a country mile.
