Recruiting Football Talk VIII

He also has below-average arm talent for the NFL. He’s a bit limited in terms of offensive systems that he could thrive in.

Yep.

Here's some previous 5th round QBs...I'd say talent wise he's in line

2024: Spencer Rattler, Jordan Travis
2023: Clayton Tune, Dorian Thompson-Robinson, Sean Clifford, Jaren Hall
2022: Sam Howell
2021: Sam Ehlinger (taken in 6th though, no 5th rounders this year)
2020: Jake Fromm

Cleveland's QB room

DeShaun Watson ( who will never take another snap at Cleveland)
Joe Flacco 40 years old just there to help out for now
Kenny Pickett third team in 3 years
Dillon Gabriel will be a lifetime backup
Shedeur Sanders. Probably starts by mid season...

Sanders couldn't have picked a better spot to land...

Some people are just dumb, and racist.

Why, in the hell was that woman in a mobile handicap scooter? Running into crap. Over her kids, causing commotion.
Yeah. The fact she says didn't need it but my kids wanted to ride it is a red flag for me. Those are for people that NEED them!

Sheduer could conceivably win that job. That is a lot of players who are not very good.

However, if he shows up to camp unprepared, and he probably will, he is DOA. 4th string QBs do not get live reps. Can't win the job with a clipboard in your hands

And the best part.... most 5th round QBs make roughly 1.1 million a year so LESS than his NIL at Colorado most likely.

😂🤣

I was cleaning my closet out a few weeks ago. I found my old leather jacket from back in the day. Solid black with that silky liner. I remembered how much I loved that jacket. Still smelled like the beautiful smell of real leather. I sat it aside and thought, I'll give this to my son because there is no way I'm fitting into this thing. He was over and I said "Hey, I've got something for you." He gave me that, "Oh my gosh, what now" look. He appreciates nostalgia so I figured he would love it. Anyway, he took it and looked at it. I looked at it and it looked bigger than I remembered. I grabbed it back and put it on and it still fit perfectly. I looked at him and said, "No way you're getting this." and walked away.
GI issue A-2 ala the Fonz, he copied me. Goat leather canvas liner.

I think Flacco starts at QB and Shedeur is either backup or Emergency QB at the start of the season. Gabriel will be cut...

Idk, that's BS. Said the dude has been in jail for a month and it'll be at least 3 weeks (from time of video) to get a possible bond. They should stick her in jail for false accusations.

Depends on what lens you look at things with...GM glasses, ya likely see only 1 starter retained between Flacco, Watson, Pickett.

Kenny is about to be hitting 2nd contract money, so they'll want to cut weight if he's not for sure the starter.

Flacco will be discounted on a "veteran" minimum.

Watson I think is gone as soon as they can find a way to offload him.

So ideally for Cleveland they want both Gabriel and Sanders as their 2 & 3 to save them the most, but could also see one of them cut if the other is clearly better.

Tennessee Volunteers drop down to #12 in new D1 poll...

LSU moves up to #2
LSU went .500 at home on the week, and got mercy-ruled by Northwestern State and jump 5 spots to number 2. We went .500, 3 on the road, and drop 6 spots to number 12. Same overall record. Makes complete sense. 🙄

Clemson gets swept by NC State, drops 1 spot to 3.

Florida State loses 2, drops 1 spot to 5.

Word is Mid-Week games don't carry a lot of weight when it comes to rankings...

I guess a bad 1/2 inning on Friday night is the difference between #2 or #12.🤷

What's crazy...assuming full season and no injuries I think Dylan Sampson would have improved his draft stock by coming back.

"Only a one year starter" seems to be a knock on him from what I'm reading post draft. Talent wise I think round 4 was crazy value for him...but going to Cleveland could be tough...although Browns did have Chubb hit 1k yards basically his first 5 years there...

But seems like Judkins will be the bell cow and Sampson the change of pace.
