When is the last time you were stung by a bee?

. . . I was getting buzzed by some carpenter bees or bumble bees yesterday. I'd just kinda swat my hand at them and they'd move. Then one buzzed my head and I swatted at it. I hit this one and it went down to the ground at my feet, under the table. I looked at it and noticed it wasn't a bumble bee, it was a yellow jacket.

No sooner than I glanced at it, it got up and made a bee line at my forehead. Never seen a bee move so fast. No doubt it was pissed, cause it hit me nearly between the eyes and stung on impact. It was stuck to my forehead. I had to swipe at it 3 or 4 times to get it loose. It hurt pretty good and swelled up a little. Good thing I had an emergency can of Copenhagen. This morning my head has a dime size bruise that feels like I was hit with a ball-peen hammer.
Large red wasp nest in the hinge of a floating dock. Stepped out of my boat near the hinge, dock bobs at the hinge, 'crunch' of wasp nest, French words out of me.

Multiple wasps attacked my leg, stinging multiple times. Not fun!

Vitello is worth every penny of his 3 million dollar deal, baseball doesn’t bring in as much revenue but they’re expanding. Also Tony’s value in advertising for the University is worth well above 3 million a year. Admissions are up and kids want to be at Tennessee when they see highly successful teams like that. Saban effect at bammer. Same deal. He helps recruiting other sports as well

Aa my doc explained regarding my poison ivy reactions doing silimar at one point:

Your body knows the enemy now. Every time it sees this enemy it ratchets up the attack. It sends more soldiers and they cause more swelling and more discomfort all in the name of killing the enemy. Eventually your body gets so good at attacking the enemy it is really attacking you and can cause anaphylaxis.

In my case he warned me to get better at spotting poison ivy and how to get it off (rubbing alcohol and rag) before it gets into the skin.

Sadly that doesn't work with a ground hiding yellow jacket. I know some good pesticides though 😆.
Pro tip, if you think you've touched some poison ivy and you're outside just rub some soil/mud on the spot. It will absorb the oil. Has worked wonderfully for me over the years.

I hate yellow jackets. One got me last July. Found the vent for their nest and put two cans of spray in it. Found every hole in the ground in the vicinity and sprayed there too. Hate them.

Another nest got me about 5yrs ago clearing brush at our old house. And then about 10 yrs ago, a nest got me when I was mowing the yard. Those jerks followed me across the yard, and two made it all the way into my house chasing me down. Hate them.

Last time I was stung by anything else - wasps in high school. Bee when I was a little guy. Accidentally stepped on one while running around barefoot in the yard.

In Knoxville, July 4th marks the date I start looking for them. I always scan the yard looking for a constant flight pattern of bees before I mow.

I use the old fashion way….right at dark I cover the hole with a screen, pour a little gas and then light it. Problem solved.

Have been away mostly and have been thinking about what happened. I honestly think that Nico leaving is going to a blessing in disguise, long term.

1. I don't think Nico is enough of a leader to ever fully reach his potential and win a championship... especially not until he gets away from the domineering presence of Big Nic. The kid is too mellow.

2. With Nico, George, Faison and throw in Merk and there was always going to be a logjam. What would things look like in that QB room had Nico come back next year? Him going pro after Junior year was only way I saw us not losing GMac and probably Merk. That's mostly settled now.

3. For some reason, his peers didn't really flock to play with Nico "The Generational Talent" I'maleaveya. Not even other teammates, family friends, Polynesians, etc.. Maybe they knew all along about the selfishness/drama there more than the rest of us and knew to stay away....just a thought.

I hope Nico gets out from under Dad's influence some, gets room to become his own man and develop. He seems like a good-hearted kid....it's time for him to step up, take control of his life and be his own man. Pretty sure that's what Coach Heupel is most disappointed by.

You hush your filthy mouth! Peanut Butter is GOAT of all snack foods.
nope. it is death, within minutes.

Beyond anaphylaxis, the main concept lies to myocardial damage and ventricular dysfunction, which can lead to shock and cardiovascular collapse. It is commonly believed that the depression of cardiac output due to coronary hypoperfusion from systemic vasodilation associated with leakage of plasma and volume loss due to increased vascular permeability, and the following reduced venous return, constitute the main causes of cardiovascular collapse encountered in anaphylactic shock. Indeed, during anaphylactic shock circulating blood volume may decrease by as much as 35% within 10 minutes due to transfer of intravascular fluid to extravascular space

We had a nest behind the electric meter at our house when we lived in Indiana. I rigged up a shop vac right next to their entrance so if they tried to go in or out it would suck them up into the vacuum reservoir which I filled about halfway with water. I killed a bunch of them, but eventually had to call a profesional to handle it.

He just wasn’t a leader, and didn’t possess charisma.
