Recruiting Football Talk VIII

I think they were trying to find ways to get the bag as quickly as possible and not play here

The more that comes out, the more it seems they were trying to frontload earlier payments, especially this last December negotiation

I think they would have taken the money and left

I'm not sure the dad and/or agent ever wanted Nico to stay here longterm
To say one more thing I've held back on: I'm mentally prepared for Kiffin the traitorous weasel to try to talk Nico into transferring, beginning late in this season, claiming that he could prepare Nico to go higher in the draft. I can picture Kiffin doing that even if he had someone better, just for social media exposure.

Angeli was 3rd string at ND. It doesn’t make sense at all.
They have high money guys in a room. They don't need a lower ceiling vet crowding their growth. We need those skills to push our room because they are not ready. He also is short term so not a true threat. He's plan B.

I read through some of the ND boards and it appeared that Angeli was 3rd in the race
He’s the only one that’s done anything — the others have absolutely no experience.

It was Angeli/Carr and ND likely wants to roll with the guy that’ll start for the next three/four years.

Angeli isn't a bad option...dude has great size and is very accurate. Behind Drew Pyne, Sam Hartman and then Riley Leonard. But I appreciate he stuck it out for 3 years with one program and was willing to try and win the starting job. No clue why he never did based on how well he played when he did get his chances.

1 start in his career... 15 of 19 for 232 yards with 3 TDs and 27 rushing yards on 8 carries against Oregon State.

But despite being 72.5% for his career on 80 attempts and having 10 TDs to 1 INT never won the starting job.

Ok guys sorry I haven't been giving updates, but it's been a busy day. UT is being careful to avoid "tampering" accusations, so cards are being played close to the chest, but here's what I know:
- Options are limited with only 4 months until the season begins, but Tennessee WILL have a starting quarterback in 2025.
- I can't give you any names, but Heupel has evaluated some options.
- If Heupel gets his guy, an announcement will be made when things are finalized.

GBO!
