I just can’t help but keep but coming back to the feeling of this being a net detractor to our ability to win football games and keep building program momentum. Pay the man who gives you the best chance to win. Where is the drama in that? Until there’s rules, that’s the landscape. Which we essentially created. If he was gonna be gone after next season anyways who cares. You're not just buying him, you’re buying a year of development for the next guys.
Sure hope the team is able to rally around this enough to make up for the talent and development gap. And don’t lose anyone else because of it. Otherwise it’s a pretty huge risk to take a step back at this stage in building a talented and winning roster. And what’s 1-2 more million for that when the program brings in $300million+ annually.
