They won’t let that happen. If anything we will come out of this better. Danny wants championships and if we have to pay like Ohio State did he will drum up the fundraising. I know fans wallets are stretched but they’ll need some more money from them too. It sucks but you pay for what you get sadly. This has the potential to be crippling. If Nico bolts (which seems almost inevitable now), Danny, Josh, and Spyre are really gonna be tested to keep this thing from going right back into the ditch.
I 100% agree with that. Just that sometimes it’s not easy to stand up to dad in that circumstance, when it’s all you have ever known.Coming from past experience it takes a long time to say enough is enough even when you know what’s going on. If the people around you are benefitting off of what you do, they will always give you advice that serves them best even if it’s running you into the ground. That’s why Nico should understand this and put his foot down now because it will save him a lot of heartache and stress down the road. They are already ruining his reputation right now.
I’m just saying he’s adding fuel to a fire he doesn’t need to. For someone whose been given so much access, I’m having trouble figuring out what he has to gain from this.AP should not report that the team’s starting QB wasn’t at practice? Are you serious?
Plus there is nowhere he can go now that will pay him what he wants. Definitely not a contender unless someone else moves form their roster.UTs gonna come out just fine here. Nico and his family did not read this right at all.
All of UT and the general public are not on his side with this one. Nobody likes the current player landscape and people were just waiting for a big domino like this to fall to really go off on the setup and system.
Bro it’s malpractice not to report this.I’m just saying he’s adding fuel to a fire he doesn’t need to. For someone whose been given so much access, I’m having trouble figuring out what he has to gain from this.
Someone also stated our last practice was Wednesday so the comment doesn’t even make sense.
Disagree brother the messages coming out are direct but nuanced communications from your program. If what nico was asking for was justified none of us would he knowing or discussing. It is not and that is fact. Nico's crew jumped the shark. You’ve become as bad as Vol twitter. Nico has been an exemplary leader. We are not a better team without him. We literally have some players only on this team because they wanted to play with him. Quit the crying and he’ll raisin and let the situation play out.
We still don’t ACTUALLY know anything. This is all rumor mill. And that shouldn’t mean anything.
Maybe, maybe not. The only other one I think would bolt if or when Nico leaves is MM ...that's it but he got his big NIL raise he should be "content".This has the potential to be crippling. If Nico bolts (which seems almost inevitable now), Danny, Josh, and Spyre are really gonna be tested to keep this thing from going right back into the ditch.
It is his job to report who is at practice and who is not.I’m just saying he’s adding fuel to a fire he doesn’t need to. For someone whose been given so much access, I’m having trouble figuring out what he has to gain from this.

I would argue that from the outside looking in, it’s hard to see how he would have made the most progress he could have if he is so worried about his money deal. Seems like he has spent more time thinking about that than putting his nose down, getting in the playbook, and working on his craft with his teammates.I saw five in-person games last season and thought Nico performed at about an average level for an SEC QB. He made some good throws and he made some bad throws, which is normal for his age and experience. I expect he made some good progress in the off-season, but, as the team leader, he cannot let agents or his parents cause disruptions. If UT has reached their limit with these antics, then cut him loose and prepare the next man. Catering to multiple renegotiations is not a good longterm plan for the school, but it is worse when the coaching staff gets blindsided by the player not reporting to practice.
ThisWe know the news broke about contract negotiations yesterday.
We know Nico’s dad got on Twitter and called the reporter who broke it a bitch.
We know Nico then did not practice today.
We have heard from a well-connected source (Chris Low) that Nico’s camp wants to renegotiate from 2.5 to 4 million. He also said the UT side is not going to blink.
We have heard from Hubbs (who is one of the most conservative people with news) that he doesn’t see a way this gets worked out.
We know quite a bit.
To me the fact AP reported that, Chris Low commented on the history of this situation, along with what hubbs said shows UT’s side is ready to move on. Maybe frustration built up from UT side fed the story to Nakos so “one of our own” didn’t get burnt at the stake for reporting it and get the wheels moving. Shannon also went to bat for Nakos. Where there’s lots of smoke…he didn't stir anything up, he reported who did/didn't show up
