Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Getting jealous of you people. I’m trying to expand my bourbon horizons and try something different every 2-3 months. My go to presently is Woodford Reserve Double Oak…have to sneak something in the $100+ area past the missus.
Since you mentioned WR Double Oak, try and find yourself a Peerless Double Oak or a Cedar Ridge Double Barrel. Little higher proof (105-109), but PACKED with flavor.

Yep bad move on their part if it’s true… but you don’t **** with this fanbase and do **** like that either so I definitely understand why fans are pissed bc some do donate a lot….. and it is frustrating hearing this **** all the time

I agree they have said merk is doing much better more often with little stuff like Nico is good, etc….

And yep all I have heard about is the Gs and center
position

Nothing about tackles and nothing about David sanders really either

been rather boring listening about the offense which could be real bad or real good….

Defense is really banged up though and that’s concerning
Agree. Defense banged up and 36 total receptions return on offense. 👀

Sport thoughts

Baseball day - need the 1st win imo

Football - i think we are banged up and young, and not experienced together. I dropped my ceiling by one game and floor by 2.
Agree on both.

Football just seems to be in the doldrums, right now. It’s hard to shake the feeling that the OSU game has sapped the momentum from the program. And whoever’s responsible, the Nico stuff is certainly not helping.

Mickelson win his elusive 1st major!

Ernie Els had already stepped into the clubhouse with a share of the lead when Mickelson stepped onto the 18th green at the 2004 Masters after posting an impressive final round 8-under 67, thanks largely to a pair of eagles during the round.

All Mickelson had to do was drain one last putt to secure the biggest win of his career — one he had been chasing for more than a decade.

18 feet later, as the ball broke right-to-left down the green, Mickelson’s birdie dropped and a massive celebration ensued.

Football had a lot of turnover especially on offense. Not a fan how some unproven players handled that situation by making big demands...not a fan that a lot of that news got out too. My approach would be similar to how Rick Barnes has had it, ya never really know if a player is leaving until they enter the portal...but once they take that step it's done. He doesn't let them leverage "I'm in the portal" to try and up their $$$ for NIL. Either you agree to what was offered or you don't, don't come back after saying yes days later wanting more (like Aidoo).

Would it be hard to replace some of the guys the football team had play that game, sure....but we as fans wouldn't know any different. Considering how many guys Heupel & staff were okay with letting leaving I'll just have to assume they retained the best guys and the guys they felt they needed.

Football team also did this.

Tyler Baron, I’m sure a few of the DBs that left that offseason, prob a couple of the WRs that left this offseason.

It’s just that there’s 13 guys on a bball roster and 85 for football so you’re gonna hear about it more.

The key in all this would be if the fanbase wouldn’t be such drama queens. There are professionals in charge. They’re taking care of things.

Peerless is so good. The price can be a barrier given most of their distillate is typically 4-6 years. That said, their overall profile of bourbon and ryes are some of the highest quality I've had from a craft distillery that doesn't source. It's one spot on the bourbon trail I wouldn't want to miss.

Whether Nico stuff is true, false, or somewhere inbetween................i don't care

I don't blame any player for wanting more.......it's what it is in today's landscape.

But when an athlete holds a program "hostage" and has all the leverage.............I have an issue with that.
I blame and hate the system......not the player. But when anyone leaves............they be dead to me.

Think biggest think is fans feel like they just went through this with him in December and again now is off putting to some. Hard to blame the players as we would all do the same thing. Just wish everything was done either behind close doors or totally out in the open. Not the whole ill leak to the "media" to get leverage.
