For most of my life the O&W game wasn't televised. I didn't get to watch one until I was a student and on campus. I remember as a kid reading the Sunday paper to get the details and report from the game.I just needed to share my frustration with AD Danny White and HC Heupel over the O&W game not being televised in any form. There are many, many legitimate reasons why most of us can't attend in person. For us, it's distance and helping take care of our 4 grandkids. The Vols have one of the absolute most loyal and supportive fan bases in the country. It's no secret that bowls want the Vols because we travel so well. Just ask OSU. It's sad to me that our administation and football program can't give back to the fans in a similar fashion. We want to see the team in the O&W game. Period. Their decision to exclude us is inexcusable. Disgrace. If it's our money they want, make the games available on a pay per view basis. All for a lousy $10 ticket. Pathetic.
Sorry VN. I just had to get this off my chest.
O+W is a thing of the past. Used to be the O+W game was the introduction to the new team each year and the scrimages were somewhat legitimate.. These days there is so much information on the teams year round that the "introduction" to the team is unnecessary and the actual games have become clown shows.I just needed to share my frustration with AD Danny White and HC Heupel over the O&W game not being televised in any form. My kid would have me making the 6 hour drive for an event like that where he could meet and greet and get autographs, more so than for the actual game.I think it depends on the $. If they're making a lot of bread, the most I see them doing is turning it into more of a fan event/meet & greet. Not sure how many people would show up without some ball being played.
I’ll be there. Finally have a weekend without OT and my youngest wanted to go for his birthday. Haven’t been to one in 7 years, looking forward to it.Who else is going to the O & W game this Saturday? I’ll be the Strawberry blond chasing after my 3 year old grandson. If you see him, corral him for me until my 61 year old body gets to him please. I just wish my granddaughter could come, but she’ll be at her first job at Cracker Barrel. She’s my last holdout on Vol fandom, 17 year old girls, am I right. See y’all there

Reminds me of a scene from Spartacus Blood & Sand, where the people could come and meet the gladiators and pick the ones they like. They did a small exhibition, like a sparring match. We could do some 40s or routes on air, etc, to show what the players can do. . . except no one dies, like in the Spartacus scene. My kid would have me making the 6 hour drive for an event like that where he could meet and greet and get autographs, more so than for the actual game.
I'm an advocate that a block party with Vol village and player interaction would bring in a crowd to merit having it.
