Recruiting Football Talk VIII

It’s a damn shame Awaka walked away. For all parties.
I'd trade him for Dubar right now

*Seriously, I can't remember what happened but didn't Aidoo kind of screw up Awaka staying at TN for us?

**Did Awaka jump in the portal and commit to Zona because he thought Aidoo was coming back. Then Aidoo announced he was leaving a few days later or was this all about money with Awaka? 🤔

I’m gonna depend on you morans to carry the win tonight. I’m exhausted, I’ll catchup tomorrow. Old girl has had the lick for a bit.
I guess I need to apologize for the late start. I was on vacation in the Pacific time zone and requested a later game. It was on our 28th anniversary so I didn’t feel too guilty. 🤠

Ehh, I’d rather have both. We need 4 guys to rotate the 4 and 5 positions. And if we had Awaka, Milicic could play a stretch 3 in a big rotation.
I know Dubar had some terrible family issues but he's really struggled. Awaka was a favorite of mine so I'm looking at it emotionally.

*Obviously, Estrella getting hurt wasn't part of the plan.

Jay Wright and CP said according to the rules that wasn't a travel by Queen on last shot vs Colorado State. I believe I will trust what those two say.

Yeah, I wouldn’t have missed Awaka at all if Estrella was healthy. Dubar has let my expectations tho. Great shot blocker that throws down some sweet oops and plays tough despite his slender frame. He’s also less foul prone than Awaka was/is, not that it means much.

All said, insanely good coaching job this year given the thin front court.

Two basketball things:
1) Coach Kim Caldwell is a helluva coach and has the chance to be the best young coach in the nation with a few more seasons. She already has signed a Dawn Staley type of class, which should make next season fun along with a top flight transfer.

2) If Coach Barnes wins it all with what is basically a 8 man rotation will that be the greatest coaching job ever? Certainly my life time, and it’s very possible. I really believe we can beat both Kentucky and Houston, as long as Chaz don’t have an off night like a few times in conference play.

No. Too many coaches play too many guys. Smaller rotations are better. I've always hated coaches running 10-11 mam rotations.

You aren’t wrong, but you also have to factor in that KH in her Sweet 16 runs never beat a major conference team. Mid majors both times. KC beat a major conference team on its home floor tonight with what may realistically be one of her least talented rosters at Tennessee.
And OSU hadn’t lost at home all year!
