Don't quote me on this because I came in during the middle of the conversation. But Swain alluded to some of the skepticism about Pearce being factual. He was extremely careful on what he said.

But stated that the Tennessee fans are surprised by design. That the team purposely keeps locker room information tight.

I'm not saying Pearce is what the random quotes are stating. I'm just saying there is probably some truth that lies in the middle somewhere.

Ainge said he just doesn't like doing media and public appearances. He rubs ppl the wrong way because he doesn't want to do anything other than play football. Seen other ppl say this as well.

I agree that’s been his preference, but moreso due to the limited pond (whether level of play or circumstances) he’s fished imo. Neither the football program nor the storied Lady Vols were in a place they could poach a current established top flight HC. To his credit, he doesn’t limit himself when he sets sight on his candidate. I’m drawing a blank on the younger candidates that are established tho. So this UALR guy might be > Bill Self in his book for what he wants. 🤷‍♂️

Plus the established big fish Head Coaches aren't pups either. Shaka Smart but I don't believe he would move the needle for Vol Fans. Don't believe AD White would try to poach from within the Conference either.

It has awhile, but I read somewhere that Danny W really likes the Samford coach. Not sure of any connection. Maybe just likes the style of play.
