I agree for the most part. It is ridiculous how ridiculously disorganized the whole transfer portal and NIL situation has become. However, I will say that a really good employee can name their price to an extent if a business wants to keep them bad enough. Again, that’s just to an extent as you aren’t going to pay top dollar to a really good staff level worker, but top notch employees at all levels do have some degree of leverage when they have other offers on the table.
