Recruiting Football Talk VIII

I don't think Luka's a great piece to build around long term. He's poorly conditioned and plays zero defense. He's nothing more than a stat padder. I'd rather build around someone like Anthony Edwards if I were the Lakers. Luka is better than nothing but I don't think he's leading the Lakers to a golden age in the future.
He also is not a great attitude guy from what I’ve read

I know I have asked many time but we need your thoughts and prayers now more than ever. The doctor just called me and told me that OH isn’t going to come home this time. He wants me to switch to DNR and ease his passing but I can’t do this. I can’t just give up. It goes against every fiber of my being. I’m shattered but I can’t just give up on him. Forgive me for being selfish but I just can’t.
Just seeing this. So sorry for what you are going through. It is terrible for someone to have to go through. You will be in my thoughts and I will pray for you, your OH, your doctors. I I'll pray for God to give you the wisdom and the peace to make the decisions you have to make.

Sorry to be just reading this. Apologize to no one. Strength and great thoughts out to you.

February 3, 1959
The Day the Music Died Day on February 3rd remembers the unfortunate and untimely death of singers 22-year-old Buddy Holly, 17-year-old Ritchie Valens, and 28-year-old J. P. Richardson, aka: “The Big Bopper.” These three artists died in an airplane accident on February 3, 1959, near Clear Lake, Iowa. Their pilot, Roger Peterson, also perished in the crash.

Waylon Jennings was supposed to be on the flight.

So his contract wasn’t up and he got poached? Guess we need an article on Garner and Heupel. 🤔
We had articles on both regarding their extensions. Same for Banks.

Which is why i asked about Ekeler since I knew his contract was up 1/31 but hadn't heard nor read anything about him resigning.

Should have been Elarbee, but not a loss--Elker's recruiting wasn't up to snuff. Need a big recruiting upgrade at this position.
Why does it seem like we have to choose between good coaching and good recruiting. I want our guys to do both!

Chop is obvious choice to replace Ek at OLB, but I'm more concerned about special teams. For special teams Jacob Bronowski at Pitt would be a home run hire. He was an analyst for Heup at UCF and Tenn before having some of the best special teams units at Miami University for 2 years.

Chop needs an onfield position but who takes over special teams?

I know the insiders said he wasn't great at recruiting, but our STs have been good under Ek. Hopefully whoever takes over, guessing Chop, can maintain the standard.
Yelling "Roughing the punter" is my equivalent to Finkle/Einhorn yelling "laces out!"
