Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Are there any wildlife resource officers on the board? I have a question about hunting with dogs. The point is moot for now but if it ever comes up again I'd like to be confident in my position.

Had some hunters come right up to my property line treeing raccoons last night late. Had my half blind horse pudding through a fence causing some injury and my livestock guardian dogs and goats were completely freaked out and jumping off stall walls etc.

They were within 20 yards of my house and 10 of my horse. I raised hell with them and told them if they didn't leave and hunt somewhere else on that property I'd see to it they never got permission again.

The property owner was pretty pissed at them when I told him what happened and hassle he gave me

Crazy thing is a funny care that he hunts raccoon. It actually helps me, I've lost more than a few chickens to them. I just can't have them that close to my livestock guardians and other animals and causing injuries. Not to mention hunting that close to my house......... Found it very disrespectful.

I wanted to know what the law says, what I have found is somewhat ambiguous.
Not a wildlife officer, but I have seen a lot of shows about wildlife officers on Animal Planet. They've always made it sound like there are strict laws when discharging a firearm around a dwelling. But again, that was on TV, and in different states. So, I don't know. But there's probably a number you can call. Here's the TWRA website.

Again. Just because someone is ball dominant doesn’t mean they aren’t good off ball. That’s not the way that works.

If someone rarely plays off the ball, how can you claim they are elite at something they don't do? It's like saying Steph Curry is a dominant post player when he rarely plays out of the post. You can't just claim someone is elite at something they rarely do. LeBron has the ball in his hands almost all the time. He's the antithesis of an off ball player.

I didn’t say he’s an off ball player. Again, just because someone doesn’t do something often doesn’t mean they aren’t good at it. I’m not sure why that’s hard for you to understand. Jokic is a great 3PT shooter and is shooting almost 50% from 3 but he’s not even in the top 50 in attempts because that’s not his role.

You either dont watch the games or just follow along with the narrative he’s a stat padding ball hog. Go watch film, reaves has been running the point and Brons been playing good off ball. he’s a great cutter and always has been. Watch him in the playoffs when rando ran the point

I thought with you being a yeti and all, that you were only into furries?
Furries are great because they accept me for who I am, but Shakira's hips do not lie. Thy make me wish I was a younger man, though she's probably not that much younger than I am.

I didn’t say he’s an off ball player.

No you said he was an "ELITE" off-ball player which is even more insane. A guy who rarely plays without the ball being elite is nonsensical. To be elite at something you have to do it at great volume. You can't claim someone is elite at a skill they rarely utilize. LeBron is the most ball dominant player in NBA history. It's why his numbers are so elite. Playing off ball is something he doesn't do. Picking your spots once or twice a game to cut when you don't have the ball doesn't make you elite at playing off the ball. All it means is you made one or two good cuts.

Why is this thread still alive? Portal season is over!

I thought I saw somewhere that Arch was planning on being the starter for 2 years at texas, if that’s still the plan, then he’d declare for the 2027 draft. Would be hilarious if that was the case, but teams still tanked for him this year.

Quick googles says KJ Bolden, Jeremiah Smith, Cam Coleman. Not to mention Dylan Raiola, Arch Manning, and if I were a betting man - Nico Iamaleava.

Sharticle presumes, arrogantly that its all about Arch. I'm betting NFL execs, are more savvy than to tank for 1 guy. Any of those guys will be cornerstone.

Did I miss where Ant was offered in a trade? Hard for me to imagine the T-Wolves are shopping him. Luka, surprisingly, was shopped by the Mavs.
Recently went through a Weller Single Barrel and it has moved to number 1 for me over 12. Now, the hard part, I have to find more of it!!!

I know I have asked many time but we need your thoughts and prayers now more than ever. The doctor just called me and told me that OH isn’t going to come home this time. He wants me to switch to DNR and ease his passing but I can’t do this. I can’t just give up. It goes against every fiber of my being. I’m shattered but I can’t just give up on him. Forgive me for being selfish but I just can’t.

Happy Monday Fam. A devotional on criticism when it seems the whole world is focused on pointing fingers at one another seems timely.

February 3, 2025: You have been through a rough patch, but things will begin to smooth out as you press on to do what God has called you to do and be who he called you to be. There is no need for condemnation. You are loved and precious in God's sight. Do not take unwarranted criticism seriously regardless of whether it is from yourself or others. 1 John 4:7-8 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.
