Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Something in the Oklahoma game got Nico skiddish.. the hit in the Bama game woke him up
Sometimes you have to take a huge hit every once in awhile to remind yourself that you can take a lick. Especially when you’re a freshman.

Nico was playing skiddish and in a way. It looked like he was playing to not get hurt. You don’t want to take those hits often. But for learning and developing. One part of that is learning you won’t get broken in half when you take a hard shot!

There is no piping at Neyland Stadium. Got it.
You can tell if crowd noise is being augmented. Georgia does it and it is easy to tell because at times there's not many fans cheering and the "crowd noise" is still very loud. The sound guy has to be on top of it to match the crowd reaction with the piped in crowd noise.

Because some schools want to see you do it at the head coach position before hiring you at a P4 school. We went 8-4 last year after he left. If we did that with him as OC, then that would not have been a step up from the previous year. At some point, great football coaches succeed, and success is different at each place. Plus, Alex Golesh will have an OC job waiting for him at a P5 school if he doesn't get it done at USF.
Besides with a 77 mil buyout staring them in the face, Alabama will be looking to hire a bargain basement G5 coach with a subpar record here in near future.

Bama's DC on the fake injury (paraphrased): "It's a tough situation. We tell guys to go down when they have an injury. We aren't able to substitute a guy who's injured when a team is going fast so we tell our guys if you've got anything to go down."

He clearly doesn't remember that the fake injury occurred after a TV break and the first play of Tennessee's drive 🤣
The Bama radio team also faulted the Bama player who was flagged for hitting Boo in the face with both hands. Bama radio crew said it was terrible mistake by the Bama player. Lost his cool and cost him team dearly. More indication of a lack of discipline on Bama's part.

The TV announcer, on the other hand, manufactured a controversy about the Bama personal foul as another false "talking point." Boo was following the Bama player. He was behind him. To say that "Boo was in his face" was asinine. The Bama player turned back into Boo's face and then hit Boo in the face with both hands.

Insofar as it caught on with viewers, it's an interesting example of something I've mentioned before: How a TV voiceover can convince people to replace what they saw with their own eyes with an account from an "authority."

Really what they would do is just mic up the crowd and the output on pa would be proportional to input. It could be done, but there would be ways to tell. Anyone with directional sound equipment could simply listen when the speakers should be off. The PA is supposed to be like the band. They have to stop when game is in play. All teams make noise through pa when ball is not live. That is fair business then.

Personally I think he'd be making a mistake taking a HC job. Unless its a big time top 15 job. Got it made here, get the pay raise.
I really think a lot of these OC's and DC's might just stay as coordinators and not have to deal with the other crap as HCs.......IDK?

I was watching a Georgia game on tv two years ago and my buddy and both notice that it looked like hardly anyone was cheering and the crowd noise was still really loud. Maybe it was the Network doing it.

Do we want UK to beat Auburn to make our *hopeful* win over them the next week look a smidge better, or do want them to lose so they come into Knoxville in full implosion mode?
