So maybe it doesn’t matter and maybe we shouldn’t care?

I think they just look very different in baseball compared to football. The alternates just look better on a baseball player and on they were executed better.

Not sure Tennessee baseball ever cemented “a look” for it to ever deviate from… always changing.

Football completely different. Those skinny gray pants… looks like pajamas.

Except we actually do use alts, and clearly the AD does monitor different forms of SM, so ideas posited here might have an influence. I promise you that the AD isn't "oh noes, the 'get off my lawn' crowd doesn't like alts, so ditch them". But those clouds aren't gonna shout at themselves.

Oh my. I had no idea Danny White & AD were monitoring the likes of VolNation to gauge interest in the next alt uniform (though apparently only positive interest in this clandestine psyop).

Please allow me to amend my position thusly -

Dear Danny,
It has come to my attention that you and your staff are monitoring the VNRF for input on uniform alts. Please know I love the dark, but for the love of God don’t roll those hideous black stripe white helmets.

Kiffin went through the entire TN roster with a fine tooth comb, before accepting the job. That's on the record.

I dont think Florida is very talented. Sure they have defensive speed, but I think Ole Miss is more so.

Never say never. But to assume a decision will be made without research, would be folly. He may be a repugnant human, but his football IQ is off the charts. Don't confuse one for the other. In addition, he's also a mercenary with no allegiances, and very few ethical boundaries. If the money is right, the fit is right (meaning he wont have to work too hard), and prestige is there he will jump.

Everything else be damned! Ive known the type in business. The bloodstains from slashed throats are still wet. The footprints on the ladder point upward.

My opinion on football uniforms:

Home: choice #1 because it looks great against a nice green field and it's the VOLS signature look.
White helmets
Orange tops
White bottoms (without stripe)
White cleats

Away: top choice
Storm troopers
(I do like the all whites with the thin black outlines)

When to wear them:
Black/smokey grays against Kentucky/USCjr/non SEC rivals/ out of conference/home late Oct or early Nov

Traditional Orange/White for home and Stormtroopers for away always against bama/florida/vandy/any other top 10 teams/homecoming/bowl games

I'm good with the all Orange unis and I'm ok with the white tops/orange bottoms, in moderation.

*The Orange helmet needs to sleep with the fishes. I hate that helmet

The pearl clutching about uniforms from the boomer foggies is next level. Let the kids where what they want from a selection of approved options and let's ride. If they like the uniform and play well, who cares if it is grey or orange or black. Heck we have brown uniforms in our history. Some folks heads would truly explode if they announced we were gonna come out in a brown uniform one Saturday.

It's just something for individuals to piss and moan about.

I feel like it’s gonna be close. Night game. Game day. First SEC game. Good defense. Our offense doesn’t usually kick arse on the road like we did LSU in 2022.

Not really an SEC game, we are playing Oklahomo, think Mizzou.

They should've known better than schedule that race during a Tennessee game. It's like scheduling wedding on game day, unforgivable. Probably should have gone with blue font.

Once again, the pending circus at FL/Ole Miss makes me really appreciate the way DW handled TV. He was the hottest item in the sport and the deal was done without fanfare AND Tony was rewarded for his loyalty.
