2 things. Can't walk that first batter and 2, we had bases loaded the previous inning with 1 out and couldn't get a run. In games like this, you can only have so many missed opportunities and it not bite you. Pickens pitched 6 great innings but all it takes is 1 bad one to lose to a great team.

Yeah that 4 pitch walk was killer to the number 7 or 8 hitter. If Pickens takes care of her, the basher never comes to the plate. And, as far as walking the basher to face the freshman, I agree we should have but apparently Pickens wanted to pitch to her.

Karen Weekly has made our program a consistent force. But she sure as hell has a perplexity to not get over the hump in the WCWS. Mind blowing we haven’t won a title truly.
