Talent is there, Heup has to fix a few mechanics I’m sure but he has potential to have a better season than Joe did a few years ago. We need him to find Mike Matthews early and often next season, and we also need PLew to be a stud.

It got old watching Nico and Joe be statues and not pick the team up.

Aguilar definitely seems like a teams QB and someone to go to war with. We have missed that.

Kim and Tod... they are like @Weezer's herpes...damn near impossible to get rid of, even with industrial grade chemicals.

OTOH, our QB room was a total crap shoot this past year, too. We just didn't know it beforehand. I'm ready to roll with Heupel and his QB room.

Irrelevant. His win record speaks for itself. He is getting paid because he beat Saban, beat LSU at home and went to the playoffs. Who his QB is/was makes no difference.

I totally agree.

Just wish that he could have arrived in Dec.

But get in the facility and get to work and win the job in summer.

I think the moxy and style is what Heupel loves.

He throws really pretty catchable ball.

Agree - whiff we should have done something in December.

I don't think it's a whiff, and they couldn't have done something in December unless they were committed to git-shirting Nico. They weren't doing that. In the least that's horrid optics whereas this has been great optics.

The way this was handled tells me they're reasonably confident in Merk and Mac. They kicked the tires on D1 studs but didn't feel like they NEEDED to overpay. Eventually none of those guys was willing to come for the right price, so they got insurance.

Aguilar will probably start the season off experience and consistency through fall practice, but will probably get replaced at some point with one of the more talented freshmen - unless he balls out. Either way that's a good outcome.

Yep. Or mid-season before a big game. Before bowl eligibility. They can extort tf out of them.
