Look at the QBs taken before Dan Marino.

Steelers took Gabe Rivera that year. He was paralyzed a few games into the season due to a car accident. Drunk driving. Passed away a few years ago

Being serious, I don't think we get a big name like Altmyer. My guess is their schools pony up to keep them and avoid the exact situation we're facing. We're just getting some kids raises. We'll bring in a "depth" guy, which I'm not even sure is worth it. Several other positions we could try and upgrade at if we're not getting a clear cut #1 QB.

I would much rather get a depth piece QB for cheap and use some money to get some WR or DT.
