You pay him to be what he is - a pace horse. If secretariat (gmac or merk) shows up and walks him down so be it. If they never do - Faizon becomes more critical and find another depth guy.

Honest question. Do you not think the Sheriff trained their child in safe gun practice? Since the son was 20 wouldn't it be possible that the Sheriff trusted the their child with the gun lock? Especially if they had gun safety training? (All speculation of course) If so, what more could the Sheriff do?

I’m sure they did.

Possible, but not smart. Nobody besides yourself needs access to your whole armory.

And if the young man wanted to possess a gun why couldnt they do that on their own, absolving the parent of any responsibility or liability?

Not have your guns be accessible by anyone other than yourself when you’re not present, seems like a good start.

Sheriff should know better in todays world.

They should have stuck to their guns in December and we all could have moved on. Hell, even pulling the holdout a few weeks earlier. At least that gives us more time to evaluate options and make a move.

My son shot a 70 from the tips in the State Am at the Honors several years ago. Was in 3rd after the first day. Didn't finish in 3rd. You must be good
