At least the young woman speaks for herself. I haven't noticed her trotting her mom out there to tell people what she (the young adult gf) thinks about anything and what she is going to do next.Ppl really thought Bill was gonna get a stage 4 locker room cancer and on top of that have a fat mfer of a dad try to dictate him. Bill already has his plate full with his 24 yr old girl.
And attended team meetings and practice on Friday. If Nico had waited, quietly made a demand for more money and when it was rejected THEN enter the portal this situation would’ve been totally different.
They made an ill-timed bet, Tennessee called their bluff and the the rest is history.
All they had to do was wait like 72 hours!
The SEC and Big10 letting teams in to their conferences that have zero business being there was a huge turn off for me, just like multi-million dollar coaches. With unlimited transfers and no limits on what players can get, there's no stopping now. College football will either implode or be like the NBA G-league in 5 years. There'll be >20 teams that will have the money to compete on an annual basis. Most fans will stop caring and the ones that still do, won't be able to afford tickets. It makes me sad when I think about what's coming down the pike for college sports.College football is coming unwound
Nico is the canary in the coal mine
If he means the offense doesn’t prepare you for the NFL, he’s right. Besides that, there’s no explanation.Big Nic and his tag along son picking UCLA is proof that their talk about the offense and the supporting players were obvious lies, for the few (if there are any) who didn't already see through it. It was a greedy, inept, hostile money play.
Nico was blindsided twice in that 2nd quarter and, yes, he really never was the same after that. I mentioned that once as a turning point during the season. I thought he would get his groove back. I guess we'll never know if he would have this year. He was running hard in that playoff game. Like he had a point to prove, imo. Alas, now I have to wonder if his late-game huge, stubborn effort in Columbus had more to do with being worried that he had just asked for money than with establishing himself as a leader with his teammates.Me and my wife went to the opening game against UTC last season and I saw Nico hit every reciever in the hands throughout that game. He followed that up with ok/good games against NC State and Kent State. Then we went to Oklahoma. He started off alright but he got blasted (in the 2nd quarter, IIRC) on his blindside and never played confident the rest of the season. He couldn't wait to run out of the pocket. I don't think he trusted Heard or any of the other offensive linemen after that. I don't know if he was scared, but he heard footsteps the rest of the season. Even at the end of the season, when Lance was healthy and the o-line were blocking better and Nico had time, he was still taking off after the 1st read. I think it was in his head that he was going to get hurt again, if he stayed in the pocket. (I know tOSU broke his helmet, twice, but that was when Nico was scrambling. I don't think the offense liked each other by the end of the season and it showed on the field)
I was saying the same thing throughout the season too. He got LIT UP at Oklahoma. There were a couple times he was really slow to get off the ground and his teammates had to help him balance himself up while he was clinching his torso and wincing in pain . Agree with you that he didn’t look like he regained confidence since that game. It was after that game that the over throws started happening.Me and my wife went to the opening game against UTC last season and I saw Nico hit every reciever in the hands throughout that game.
