Recruiting Football Talk VIII

I agree but I can't imagine the headsets would be slower. Maybe at away games where you can't hear, but otherwise speaking has to be faster than speaking to the sign people and having them get organized enough to sign in the play.
I think the headset will be used probably to walk Nico through the play/who he's looking for type thing. I bet you will still see plays being called in from the sideline

Goodness I believe we are the most stacked we have been since 2004/2001. Only season killers would be rash of injuries at DB/Oline. (And QB obviously but that’s a given for every team)
I want to see us bulldoze Chatt and prove that our LOS is indeed what they say they are. Like it should be really ugly.

Crazy accident at the national science lab today. A scientist pushing a cart of microscopes ran into another scientist pushing a cart of telescopes. Yep. That made one big kaleidoscope.
Quit stealing other people's bad jokes and foisting them off on us as your bad jokes. This is bad joke appropriation and I won't stand for it!

I just can't fathom how it would be slower than the 3 dancing coaches sending in bizarre gestures.
It was probably not even the M&M's that were actually giving the signal. Probably some random dude that nobody was paying a lick of attention to besides the players. lol

Thanks for posting! First off, how exciting is this?! For the first time in a while it looks like we have SEC quality and depth across the board. I know we’re all excited to see CRGs unit get after it. Offensive Line is going to be a strength. And I’m less worried about the depth there than in years past. The QB position is obviously exciting, and Nico will not be short of quality pass catchers. The injury bug seems to always be the concern, but I’m hoping less so this year. The only unit that looks susceptible to decreased production if that were to occur is the DB room, and hopefully the front 7 being what they are takes the pressure off the back unit.

Never had a ton of thoughts regarding the depth chart release but I have a couple so:

1. Observation: So many ORs. Maybe too many? Or is it a good thing? Nobody is on the same level of JP Jr and yet the depth chart at that position is him or _ or _ or [true freshman]. RB is a 5-OR position. Sampson is the starter there. Maybe it doesn’t matter but it would be nice to see less ambiguity amongst who the starters are going into a season where the talent is there and the lone question marks seem to be not amongst the starters but rather the newcomers and those needed to take a leap in development for us to be our most successful team.

2. RS Fr Max Gilbert over RS Jr JT Carver is interesting.

3. Do not like seeing Jermod McCoy on the return depth chart. With DB being our biggest question mark, I’d hate to see our best guy of the bunch possibly get injured on a special teams play.

4. FS is the only spot that is concerning imo. Skepticism about WB has been talked about enough and CC has not seem to put it all together after like 6 years here. That’s a spot we really were looking forward to seeing Jordan Thomas stake a claim and with him gone the depth chart still makes it seem like that’s a big question mark. Hope one of those guys erases those questions in a good way.

Going to be a great season yall! I’m licking my chops at our biggest games. Oklahoma being a true coin toss will be exciting. I believe they could lose 5 games this season and it’s not due to lack of talent. Should be a wild atmosphere. Hope we bring a large faction of orange to Norman. I think Arkansas might put up more of a fight than expected but I expect us to win by more than one score. I am knocking on wood hoping I don’t regret this next statement as I have in the past, but I think we take care of Florida without question. I think they have more talent than people are giving them credit for, but I also think this years team is not going to be handcuffed like last years. I expect us to open the playbook and I expect Nico to not succumb to the Florida woes. I think he and the team light them up in the first sec home game and set the stage for a top 10 matchup with Bama the following week. Bama is a coin toss I think we can win. Regardless of Saban being gone they still have plenty of talent and they will be well coached. Last year we had them beat easily in the first half. Some home cooking and they end up beating us by more than the actual difference in play. Had we not been taken out of the game by a few plays/calls, it could have been another classic. If we win it will likely be a close game and I’m looking forward to being there in person for it! I watched the 52-49 game on tv and will always regret missing it in person. Outside of this games and uga I don’t see anything worth mentioning on the schedule. We will take care of business. Uga is a likely loss and I almost don’t care with the expanded playoff. If we have 2 losses out of uga/bama/ou, I don’t see how we miss the playoffs. Let’s go Vols!!!

This is from the pdf version of the media guide. Looks like close to a third of the pronunciations are screwed up. And it's like this every single year. Always cracks me up when I hear an announcer say a name funny and I think oh yeah, he read the pronunciation guide.

Not sure have seen any news on Ross or Gentle. Wonder if both will RS as we are already so deep.

Just saw depth chart and dont see Gentle.
I’d be very, very surprised if the intent is to RS Ross. I don’t think you hold a perceived stud like him under wraps. Unleash the beast @Glitch

@Enki_Amenra you successfully navigated uses and gratifications of interweb gambling. Now need a dissertation on psyche behind needing to be an athletics know-it-all. Pay attention LV, BON. You're on deck.
Prob should throw yourself in there as well. Not sure how him discussing his opinion on the subject makes him have any more of a need to be an athletic know it all than you?
