The issue with basketball is your truly elite HS guys only play one year. Flagg is a great example. The issue is those guys are exceedingly rare and it is extremely hard to build a plan around landing one. The more typical HS recruit is likely to ride the bench on a top program and soak up a spot and a scholarship. All teams need some, but now the replacement for the elite guys is to get a 3rd-5th year stud from a mid major who has perfected his craft and now wants publicity for his draft stock. Knecht and Lanier are great examples here.

Also older guys are stronger and more experienced so they are just better in most respects.

Auburn's roster is literally about a year different from being as old as some NBA rosters.

It works in football too where older teams tend to be better. Vandy was old last year.

Flagg is pretty damn good. I’m sure they’re happy to have him for one year.

How many years do our transfers play for?

Older, stronger is great. Probably more so in FB, but great anywhere.

In FB we take both (obvious rosters are different). I would think you would want a balance in BB, too. But hard to argue with the results.

Gene Hackman was a great actor. The Replacements I could watch everyday .

There is potential that if we win out, we could elevate all the way to the 2 seed. Kudos to Auburn! That is an impressive conference record with how difficult this conference is this year.

I actually agree with players in college doing their 4 years or 5 if it is and move on. It's hindering the development of younger players and one of the many reasons these young guys are portaling out every year.


I never agreed with the Pavia decision to start with and don't even get me started on these guys that are 25 and 26 still playing college football.
