Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Nice. I would fish that. Never been much of a fisherman but my little brother was an addict. ALWAYS looking for somewhere to wet a hook. He taught me to bass fish and it is great fun...topwater with fake frogs/poppers. It really, really pisses bass off. Most violent hits and best fights i ever had in freshwater. Miss my little brother Elijah. God rest his soul.View attachment 711756
Great smile in his Pic.

I live in Mt Holly NC less than a mile from the Catawba River as the crow flies. We have flies like that that hatch every year here...they will completely cover the windows of the gas station closest to my house etc when they hatch. Its crazy to see. Attracted to the lights and light coming thru the windows. The amount of food left behind after they mate and die is crazy. Guess the birds, reptiles and amphibians just eat as much as they possibly can for a couple days..flattens up the fish too i bet.
NC has a wild trout population. Watauga River, Elk Rivers. Absolutely love fishing Big Laurel in Marshall County.

My first love is smallmouth, amirite @TheBigOne10. Not making excuses, it takes $, and time. My man lives rhe good life.

I have had to work on my emotional response to football for a while.

The big issue for me is I can handle a loss or bad game etc it is coming on here and getting fired up by like minded people.

I have to regulate my reading after bad games.

Which sucks cause I love it here.

Buts it’s best for me and how I want to handle things.
SBV, I listen to the Fanrun radio post game show called Voluntary Reaction after every game. You either have happy crazy drunks or angry crazy drunks and it is HILARIOUS either way. You listen to the same gripes you have get discussed and it helped me a lot. I view the entire industry like WWE. Its pure entertainment.

I feel like the older I get hardened by the sports losses I've gone through. I've already been greatly disappointed by every team I follow, so I handled this loss much better than I would have years ago.

We also accomplished the next step for the program in making the playoffs. The level of vitriol and hand wringing was really dumb.

Now we sit here

We got Moe
Probably got Jefferson
Mike is back

Ohio State murdered Oregon even worse and they just happen too look as good as any one ever has.

So at the end of the day, the idiot margin is out because, we got killed on the road, in the playoffs, with no healthy skill players, against one of the better and most talented teams we've ever seen?

Anyone else confuse the movie "Legends of the Fall" with "A River Runs Through It"?
I just remember that in "A River Runs Through It" there was a close-up shot of Craig Sheffer in profile and you could see his earring hole in his earlobe, which was a bit anachronistic.

How's that for a random memory?

Reckon Mike Matthews may have told CJH "I ain't blocking, just throw me the damn ball". Keyshawn Johnson style..
