Recruiting Football Talk VII

This is your opinion. I have heard analysts say he is not that coordinated. Just big and slow footed. But you know all so…

There is not a serious analyst that would say Edey is not coordinated. That is absurd. Perhaps you were hearing the voices in your head say that.

If Edey was 7" shorter he'd be lighter and more mobile. He'd have a different game and set of tools. Idk if he would be objectively better or worse. In a vacuum one can speculate that he'd be the exact same player with the exact same tools just shorter, but he probably wouldn't. It's the reason you don't have 7'4" guys with the mobility and athleticism of Awaka for example. The difficulty of motion is like exponential at that point.

It's all just pointless conjecture anyways. Edey has improved his game this year and his size is absolutely an advantage. I don't think a single one of us wouldn't want him playing for the Vols.

I think Knecht is the most exciting player in the game but Edey is going to win it because of the stats he's putting up. Knecht doesn't have the all around stats to challenge like others mentioned. He's a bad defender and average at rebounding. If Edey had gone pro last year, Knecht would be the favorite to win.

All of this.

Baffling to me people are trying to talk themselves into Edey not being talented. Everyone could just say they don’t watch Purdue play and leave it at that.

I really want to stomp Kentucky’s ass today, but damn does it feel good to have the conference title locked up before we even tip-off.

Such a great comedy movie. He hates these cans. First I got my name in the phone book. Now I got my named tattooed on your azz. You mean I’m going to stay this color

Is he bad at rebounding? I think barnes has given everyone a role.

Summary: "TENNESSEE is a better basketball team than Arizona in every category imaginable but it's still a coin flip between the 2 because, well, it's TENNESSEE." 🙄

They pointed out the metrics we're ahead in, but according to the table, we're just behind in NET, the committee's main metric, KenPom, and ole BPI. They left that out, but why it's still a discussion.

We should pass in all 3 with a win today. Then the conf tournaments. Ways to go, but according to bracketologists matrix and The Athletic, Lunardi, Palm, etc. we are currently the favorite. A ways to go still.

Lunardi wants every excuse to make Zona a 1. First it was "Vols will have to win down the stretch" with the assumption that we wouldn't. Now we are in position to do that. Now it's "depends who wins their conference tourney" knowing the Pac12 is cheeks and Vols again have a tougher roll to hole (RF'ism). Not to mention the former precedent that "tournament finish doesn't matter for seeding" when we won the SEC a couple years ago.

We haven't won out yet though. The race going through next Saturday includes today ofc.

Imagine we lost today and 1st SECT game and Zona wins out. They'd be the favorite then.

We have the better chance rn 100%. But he ain't wrong, the race could go down to the wire.

Finally getting a smidge of recognition

Yeah DK officially retook the #2 spot (MGM odds) after Wednesday over RJ Davis. Guess he fell behind after Bama game.

Idk if they announce runner-ups, but think he'll finish out to claim it, barring some monster performance vs Duke and DK wilting...don't think UK's defense is good enough for that though 😅 Could be first to 90.

Edey's game is bullying his way to the basket with his size. He has slow feet and no jump shot. If he didn't have the size, he would be outmatched against most D1 players. If Knecht was 7" shorter, he would be similar to Vescovi's height. He would still have his jump shot and ability to create.

Edey is good because of his size. Knecht is good.
Vescovi is 6’3…… DK would not be at Tennessee or any high major school if he was 5’11”….. They play different positions… Eden is a true post… Since when is being big in basketball used against a player…. He is big…. has a great drop step…. good foot work…. can shoot a consistent hook with both hands…. can shoot out to the free throw line and is a decent FT shooter….. He is a great college player and so is DK…. DK has much more pro potential due to the changes in the game.
