So, I think when some people look at win loss records from a historical perspective they don't factor in that teams didn't start playing 12 regular season games until very recently. Maybe I initially looked at the 90's and thought "eh a lot of 9 win seasons" but I'm sure back then that was essentially a 10 win season now. If we had a 12 game regular season back then, that 12th game would have been filled with some very beatable small school. Modern eyes should look at our dominant run (before 12 games was a thing) 1983-2001 like this.

Either we asses our history with the proper context or we say "well our 10 win regular season would only be a 9 win season in the 90's" I'm sure older people for the most part have understood this, but it definitely gave me an even better feel for how good our run was during that time period.

My paternal grandmother “Maw-Maw” was one of 11 children (that lived past the age of 2) from waaay up in Nickelsville. Hard people, from a hard place. But good folks.

My maternal grandmother “Mi-Mi” came from a demonstrably different background, hailing from Lafayette, AL. Different worlds.
