Well we were 1/4 mentioned by dad recruiting him the hardest and we are 1/2 of those teams listed expected to be Top 10 next season...idk what is most important to Lecque but I would think we would at least be in the running.

Yeah, I think we are really in contention for him

Kentucky rivals article on Jalen Lecque, interview with his father...

Said Kentucky, Tennessee, Oregon and NC State are the 4 recruiting him the hardest...reclassification to 2018 is definitely possible, the plan right now is to play the first 2 EYBL sessions and see how he is doing and then talk it over with the family.

Could you imagine if Tennessee were to land Lecque and Burns for 2018 class

Watch for UK. They are creating open spots by the day. Diallo yesterday and Gabriel today. Fortunately, they have recruited guard heavy (2 PGs and 2 SGs in this class alone, already). Doubt if a player of Lecque's caliber would want to enroll early into a logjam like that. Worth watching out for. Space won't be an issue for UK.

Yeah, that’s what I’m saying . They’re also trying to get Tyrese Maxey to reclassify ( 5 Star PG )

I think Gabriel declared without an agent. Would be shocked if anyone at the next level told him anything other than he's not close to being ready.

No, space never is an issue at UK, they are never full...but yes very guard heavy and even more so if Hagans reclasses like they expect him to.

Yes, but my guess is that his families financial situation makes the decision for him. I predicted he'd enter the draft months ago for that reason.

Not usually, but this was the one year that it seemed like it might be. As it turns out, they could potentially lose Knox, SGA, Diallo, Gabriel, and Washington to the draft, and Sacha Killeya-Jones and Tai Winyard to transfer. I still won't be surprised to see Quade Green transfer either.

Oh I had no idea his family situation was that bad. Gotta do what you gotta do

Yeah, no doubt. Here is a snippet from an article about his decision to test the NBA waters...

"It is no secret that Gabriel and his family have hard a lot of hardships to overcome in life, so if he wants to make some money playing professional basketball so he can better support them, that’s very admirable and something everyone should support."

As could Thunder Insane Oil.

Not likely. Could sign some highly rated players this spring. May not get any. But I'm pretty comfortable predicting that TN will be in the NCAAT for the next several years either way. It won't surprise me if TN gets invited 10 or more consecutive years.

From Basilio's 4/18 blog:

54% of offers were 4 or 5 star prospects in 2016

2017 48% of the offers were to 4 or 5 star with only 1 five star offer

2018 74% of offers to 4 or 5 star players. 6 five star offered so far.

2019 32 offers..11 Five Star. 14 Four stars. That's 25/32.

Also mentioned in that blog by Nate Rutherford is that D.J. Burns is possibly holding out for UNC.

UNC just was informed that Cameron Johnson is returning for his SR year, so if enrolling early is Burns' choice, I don't believe they have a scholarship to offer. 3 spots open with Berry and Pinson graduating, and Felton transferring. They have 3 current signees from the fall period (Nassir Little, Coby White, and Rechon Black).
