Ideally, a 6-9ish type guy who can give us 10 and 7 would be outstanding. I also wonder if there is some mutual interest in Tennessee and Jalek Felton, the UNC transfer. He'd have to redshirt next year, but I'd be totally fine taking him and investing that scholly on him next year vs taking a warm body grad transfer that won't contribute much.

I would be fine taking Felton, but Tennessee needs another guard way more than a big man. Walker will get better, Fulkerson will have a full offseason to train, Alexander and Williams we know about. Kent could get some run if need be. So we got plenty of size. If Bone gets hurt next year Tennessee could be in big trouble without another guard.

Felton is a guard, but not eligible next year. Not without some sort of waiver.

Exactly. We don't need to another big

If you believe in Fulk and thin Darrington is a lost cause, then I'd agree. If not, and I don't, then finding a rebounding machine who can finish around the basket is a nice addition. We struggle to score the ball from 2-pt range. Landing a guard who can get to the rim at will helps address that too.

I believe in Schofield, walker, Alexander and williams more than I do Darrington. I don't think darrington is a lost cause but I do believe that Pons is going to demand more minutes at the 3 which means more minutes for Schofield at the 4. Lots of options to get better with the bigs but only one option to get better with the guardsz

You’ll have that next year in Walker. Kid is gonna be really good.

Darrington won’t amount to anything (cue TGO any second) and while Lamonte is improving, I’d rather he focus on shooting and defense than having to facilitate an offense

I still think we are going to have a defection too. I’ll be shocked if we have just one newcomer. My bet is on Johnson or Kent going JUCO.

Johnson can't go JUCO, can he? He will be a Junior, academically.

You can still go JUCO, you see that all the time in football. He will be a sophomore athletically so he can go JUCO, that is what Cam Newton did for example.

PG Bone, Darrington
SG Bowden, Turner
SF Schofield, Pons
PF Williams, Fulkerson
C Alexander, Walker

I don't see Johnson and Kent playing much, perhaps one or both transferring. To me, Fulkerson is the weak link in that lineup, as of now.

The preference is obviously to land Simons, but I can make a case for a big or a guard if we go the GT route.

He transferred to Blinn College during his sophomore season at Florida...I’m not sure that you can transfer to a JUCO if you’ve completed 2 years at a university, didn’t think you could.

Interesting. Seems odd that an academic JR could transfer to a junior college.

Put Schofield in Fulkersons spot and he isn't the weak link.

Besides I am not giving up on Fulkerson but even if he isn't going to develop we have his minutes covered

If you miss on Simons and are only taking one then I just look for best available graduate transfer...whether it be a big or a guard, you can find an impact player.

With that said I’m still not fond of not adding a freshman to a class, breakdown would be...

SR: admiral, Alexander, darrington
JR: Williams, turner, bone, Bowden
so: Pons, Johnson, Fulkerson, Walker
Fr: Kent

Obviously you aren’t going to play 13, nobody does...or even 11 or 12 most likely, so some people just aren’t going to play. That’s why having balanced classes and with guys willing to keep working to improve and stick it out is important to long term success imo.

That could’ve been, I just thought I remembered you saying he couldn’t go JUCO after 2 years here

Well I hate it when I can't recall things.
Getting old

Kids end up at jucos a lot in their 3rd year. Especially in other sports. So I know I didn't say that wasn't possible
