If Penny is hired at Tiger High does that mean Wiseman can't sign with him, because they are both at Memphis East, right now? I know Wiseman is supposed to be a KY lock, but if the BB rule is different than the FB rule, Tiger High may have a chance

I dont think that rule applies. In football, the rule pertains to an off-field position vs an on-field position.

I would assume that the HC position, an on-court position, would be treated similarly.

I would love for one of our recruiting publications to actually interview Simons and get his thoughts on Tennessee's season. The total and complete lack of coverage with respect to basketball recruiting is embarrassing.

I like Rob Lewis but I wouldn't describe him as a "go getter."

I've all but given up on Simons.

I have too, just because all indications are that he is simply looking for a reason to go pro.

But if he does choose school, then I like our chances based on him having only taken 2 visits, and according to BTO, not having a particularly glowing review of his visit to NCSU.

Could someone please give a rundown on the current class? Who signed early and if there is a chance to add anyone in the spring. I realize we only lose JDIII so I'm assuming that we only have one spot.

Jerry Meyer will be on Basilio's show at 11:30 to talk recruiting, specifically Harris and Simons. I won't be able to listen but if anyone wants to post nuggets it'd be much appreciated.

Nothing new on Simons, Harris trending toward Baylor.

Baylor is definitely in the lead for Harris then probably Miss State. Doesn't see it happening with Tennessee.

Simons - who knows? Gonna have to wait on NBA. He thinks Tennessee is fine with waiting on him.

Suspicions confirmed. We will wait on Simons and take a grad transfer or hold the scholly if he chooses the NBA.

Kind of what I thought would happen. It makes sense. If you can't land a 5 star impact guy then go get a 5th year senior who can be an impact guy.

Ideally, a 6-9ish type guy who can give us 10 and 7 would be outstanding. I also wonder if there is some mutual interest in Tennessee and Jalek Felton, the UNC transfer. He'd have to redshirt next year, but I'd be totally fine taking him and investing that scholly on him next year vs taking a warm body grad transfer that won't contribute much.

Agreed...I’m not big on the idea of adding no 3-4 year guys in a class, imo that would be an issue in 2-3 years if you basically have an empty class.
