'18 Myreon Jones from Huffman, Al
Myreon Jones, Huffman, Point Guard
transferred to Lincoln Prep, in Georgia, for his senior year. Rated a 5* by 247 sports and is not rated by any other service. Over the summer he said Tennessee has showed interest but I am not sure they have offered. I have seen him in person he is a very similar player to Simons in the fact that he shoots the lights out of it and has very good handles.

Odd situation. Offer list certainly isn't 5*, so it makes me wonder what the story is. Did he reclassify? Does he have grade concerns? Strange.

There is usually someone unexpected that transfers. Look for someone that isn't living up to expectations or not getting minutes who was expected to contribute. In my opinion there are six players that may consider moving on, depending how the rest of the season goes for them.

Based on offer list and no other sites listing him as a rating I am going to say major grade concerns. But that is imo

No he was actually on his way to be the valedictorian at Huffman. He played at an inner city school in birmingham which might have stunted his exposure.

Myreon Jones(@MyreonJones21) lists Samford, UAB, Murray st, NKU, and Wofford as some of his offers going into his final year.

That was in November, not much of an offer list, OP I’m guessing you know Jones?

When guys go to prep school they kinda disappear in the rankings sometimes. I've seen it happen before. It's like they get caught in between classes and get forgotten.

For instance, I'm pretty sure Detrick Mostella didn't have a profile when we got his signature.

New guy on our radar...Trey McGowen...2019 3 star combo guard now at Hargrave, not a terribly impressive offer list with NC State being the best offer. Clemson has offered too. Looks like we may get involved if he fits our profile. We sent a coach to check him out recently. Jerry Meyer info.

This is different he is a senior in high school. He was not ranked anywhere before this summer. He went to the prep because before he went to an inner city school where academics are terrible and in prep the competition is light years better. I think his recruiting will pickup here shortly. I know Tennessee has showed interest and it would be a huge get the kid is a bigger and more athletic Lamonte turner

I don’t know him I live in Birmingham where he is from. I’ve kept up with and everybody was caught off guard when he got the 5* rating out of nowhere but he deserves it. I just don’t know why auburn and Alabama are staying away and maybe they have offered it just hasn’t been reported

No clue how he sees 6 players based on the current situation and info we know today. I'm gonna chalk it up to general BS since he never laid down any names.

With the depth we have this yr, I’m not surprised to see this. But nothing about the 9-10 rotation would make me think anywhere near 6 is a possibility. JJ, Kent(don’t see it) or a surprise. 3 at most

At most I see 2, and that’s not anyone specifically...I think Fulk & Kent would be 2 of the more probable if there were 2 departures, but that feeling on Fulk could change very quickly depending on if he can get back to being last years player.

Jalen Johnson would make sense, but the fact he’s used his RS already would make that less likely imo.

A transfer could depend on who gets signed. Barnes is trying to get a PG or a combo. That shouldn't affect Kent, Pons, Fulkerson, or Johnson. There are a lot more minutes available for those 4 freshmen year after next if they can't take them away from Alexander and Schofield.

Johnson, Turner, and Fulkerson lose a year if they were to transfer.

Johnson will only be competing directly with Schofield for one more year, but with Pons for the next 3.

Bone can most easily transfer with his redshirt still available, but he's starting and gets a lot of minutes. There would have to be an outstanding PG to be signed in order for Bone to be scared off.

Unless Johnson's injury is the reason why his playing time has been limited, he's the only player I won't be surprised to see transfer.

Kent has a much better chance of getting minutes year after next without Alexander on the roster. He's competing with Walker right now as a backup at the 5, but there's no reason that those two couldn't be on the court together.

Whether or not Fulkerson can add weight or develop a consistent outside shot will greatly affect who might stay and who might transfer.
