I don't recall Dale Ellis being the outside shooter while at UT....that appeared to develop in the NBA and when the 3 point shot was created. I remember Ellis being a warrior in the paint while in college, but that was a long time ago and my memory is definitely not as sharp as it once was! Would be interesting how the rest of the "mature" forum guys remembered Ellis' college game.

These highlights remind me that my 'mature' memories of Dale Ellis' at UT are still intact. He definitely operated around the basket mostly.

Michael Brooks would have been the main one shooting 3-point equivalent shots.

Ellis mainly played in the paint and along the baseline for Devoe. There wasn't a 3-point line yet.

Willie Burton was a year behind Ellis and Howard Wood was two years ahead. Federmann was also in Willi's class.

Devoe's philosophy was to pound the ball into a post player and Ellis was the best player so most of his looks were with his back to the basket.

Another CB prediction to Vols for Anfernee Simons . Also he has set an official visit for January 5th , The weekend we play Kentucky .

That would definitely change the landscape of UT basketball if we could get 20 wins and a trip to the big dance and land a prospect like Simmons.

As far as Tariq Owens goes I liked his game and his heighth would have definitely came in handy last year.

If our posts are Alexander,Kent,Williams,Walker, and Fulkerson I'd take Owens over Fulkerson all day.

Before Fulkerson got hurt he was balling out. I think he is pressing instead of letting the game come to him. I'm hoping he finds his way.

'18 Myreon Jones from Huffman, Al
Myreon Jones, Huffman, Point Guard
transferred to Lincoln Prep, in Georgia, for his senior year. Rated a 5* by 247 sports and is not rated by any other service. Over the summer he said Tennessee has showed interest but I am not sure they have offered. I have seen him in person he is a very similar player to Simons in the fact that he shoots the lights out of it and has very good handles.
