It was no secret they weren't getting those guys, Barnes passed on Huffman and Johnson and Manley never included Tennessee on his final list.

I have to sort of disagree about Johnson after knowing what I knew about 1 month ago. Can't believe CRB just turned him away.

I can understand the other 2 because they were sort of above our heads. Let's hope that having Jarnell come to school to UT will eventually help get his brother here. If we can't get Stokes, that may just leave us with Kent even if we can get him. :eek:hmy: Thanks!

Well no disrespect but your info about Johnson came out to be dead wrong, the other info out there proved to be correct and it said Tennessee and Barnes' cooled on him...so that's what I'm going with.

What I meant about disagreeing about Johnson was that he was going to come to Knoxville but your statement appeared to me to be otherwise all along. I know I ended up being dead wrong about Mr. Johnson but the source was from a good one at Rivals.

Turns out he was even fooled by the choice of the turnaround by CRB. No problem though. We all can get wrong information sometimes. Most of mine has come from 247 Sports though & not Rivals. I was shocked as anybody when CRB turned Chase Johnson away.

Like I've said in other post, for it to happen that quickly CRB must have found out something he didn't like about Chase either off-the court or in some other area of his life. That's the only explanation I have because it was an 80%-90% go for Chase committing to us. Thanks!

Interesting, because rivals was the one saying Johnson would not be taking an official visit to Tennessee and rivals was the one also saying Tennessee had cooled on him and his offer was likely no longer commitable...so not sure who you read that by from rivals? Thanks.

Usually, it would be from 247 Sports strictly since that's the main source I use but this did come from Rivals this time about Johnson.

Again, who or where did you read this? I have a rivals subscription and as I said above the guys from rivals were saying the complete opposite of what you were, so curious where you got this from? Thanks.

Shai Alexander decommitted from Florida. Top 50 player outta Hamilton Heights in Chattanooga. Originally from Canada. Butler, UCLA, VT, and others involved.

I wouldn't be surprised if we at minimum reach out.

No it won't. They didn't bother to recruit him the first time around, nothing has happened to change that.

I've been out of the loop for a while (moved to China to teach, had a baby, etc). Can anyone bring me up to speed on top recruiting targets and how this recruiting class is shaping up?

Basically not great. I don't follow it a lot, got most of my information from you. But the staff has whiffed on many of the guys, causing some on here to abandon ship on the program and others to kick up their heels and laugh.

What recruiting class? Right now there isn't one
