Recruiting Discussion

If the kid is a potential lottery pick there is zero way he is under the radar.

Your the only one to say he was. The staff wanting to keep a recruitment quite and other media outlets not mentioning anything yet does not mean the kid is an under the radar recruit. Surely even you can find something better to complain about. :)

Per VQ the Vols are looking to bring in De La Rosa for the LSU game and will be pushing for a commitment, Georgia and West Virginia are also involved. The staff is recruiting as if there will be another open spot, they are targeting either a graduate transfer big or possibly a big from overseas with that additional spot.

Anyone got a link to his 247 page? Can't seem to find him.

I just let it go, typical Bruin coming up with things that weren't even said, I can always count on you LeftEye lol.

Isaiah Hartenstein, Jonathan Jeanne, Ivica Zubac, Nik Slavica, Petre Cornelie, Marko Arapovic? Any of these guys?

Is it one of these guys? I looked up a couple of mock drafts and these are international "bigs" that are projected to be 1st and 2nd rounders in 2017.

Can you at least tell us if he's a guard or forward/center?

He's a center, listed from 6'11"-7'1"

This is funny considering you are the one acting like we are being watched here with hidden cameras. Perhaps it's another watergate.

I am sure if our staff has found a Potenial lottery pick they aren't the only ones to know about him. Good grief the instantly of keeping that a secret here because who might me watching

Not gonna throw the name out there just yet, but the guy they're looking at overseas is a projected 2017 lottery pick, if the Vols could somehow land this guy it would be quite the game changer.

That would be wonderful. Just have a hard time figuring out what edge Tennessee would have in a battle for a kid like that, unless he was somehow related to a current player or coach or his father was childhood friends with Ernie Grunfeld before he moved from Hungary. Kids like that typically want to go into a place set up to win immediately, like grad transfers.

Ben Simmons chose LSU who is led by Johnny Jones, decent chance he never sees a NCAAT. If you're good enough to make the league you're gonna make it whether you go to Kentucky, Tennessee or UTC.

Didn't they hire his coach or something like that? I forget the connection... I do find it weird that you wouldn't tell, you'd say the same if someone else came in and said it. I'm still thinking it's Isaiah Hartenstein or Jonathan Jeanne though. Leaning towards the latter now since you said 6'11-7'1.

No need to pick a fight here. BTO brought info. If people want to complain with the vagueness I suggest just keep moving along and don't say anything.

Think they had a coach on staff who had a connection to him, but was just an example, and for all any of us know there is some sort of connection, I don't know either way.

If this new rule gets put in place, that would really suck. I know right now, that's really the closest thing to top 100 players we can get, but it would really suck go get a big, then him not be able to play.

They won't just implement it effective immediately, it will be at least another season.

Speaking of the rule, I think it's stupid. Would much rather forcing freshman to sit out their freshman year, to devlope. Would really make a difference, imo.

Rob Lewis on the "player from turkey" rumor...

I've mentioned in the War Room for the last couple of weeks that I think the staff may look overseas if the numbers work out in the spring (and I think they will work out).

Yes, I think Turkey may be a likely spot that they look. Have to leave at that for now, but yes, would say you're on to something with the Turkey connection.
