Recruiting Discussion

Yes they have usually a student manager keep the stats and transfering them to the stat format is the issue I am told by JC coaches

As for your other question. I have no idea his minutes but I wouldn't bet the stats online are completely accurate. It's a Toss up

So if you're saying a student manager keeps stats, which includes minutes played, and then school reporters write stories that evening with the stats given to them from those student managers, why would they be deemed unreliable? There is no format transfer that needs to be taken place, could even be just an exact copy of those stats kept by said manager.

Good grief not sure why this is even a discussion.

The coach I know said they changed the computer program the national site uses a few years ago. It's very hard to edit if any mistakes are made. It's why I brought it up when germ posted there is clearly a mistake with his kids

It's a discussion because you've made it one, you seemed to bring doubt to the accuracy of his mpg average, I said they jive with the articles written following games. Those stats would be directly from these student manages, so regardless of some lost is translation formula, the mpg average seems to be pretty accurate. Also add in he fact his coach has discussed his limited minutes played due to conditioning and it really seems like the reported numbers are pretty close to accurate.

On delarosa, the mins calculation looks screwy. They have him down for one minute in games where he scored 15, 12 and 18. That's some serious offensive efficiency. 👍

NJCAA

So in 3 games he scored well into double digits he only played 1 min?

If that's the case his average minutes per game on the national website can't be correct

Coaches in juco have complained about the stats program they are forced to use not being user friendly and hard to correct errors and I am sure that's happened here.

Any articles listing season averages of minutes played are most likely very flawed

This is where you seem to be struggling, I've not once mentioned articles with average minutes played, they give recaps of games with individual game stats, which includes minutes played for that game.

In all of those recaps I've found it seems De La Rosa's minutes range from 10-20 minutes played, with majority being around 15-18 range, so could the njcaa site be off by 1-2mpg, sure, I haven't said otherwise. However, it's also possible Kasongo was playing 2-3 more mpg than what we saw last year also, by this theory of yours, no?

I don't trust anything other that PTs on the JC national website for any player. I am sure some if not most schools get them correct but schools like this one mentioned here makes the entire site lose credibility

NR Victor Enoh

Vols offered Victor Enoh (teammate of Ikey Obiagu) sometime again, wasn't sure if he had an offer or not, but VQ confirmed it.

Recent post about Enoh:
Victor Enoh had record 23 rebs. Has Memphis, K.St., Tenn. offers. WF, UGA, Bama, UVA, VT, Xavier, LSU, FSU interest

Vols seem to be targeting strongly: Obiagu, Walker, Wigginton, Hammonds and Uyaelumno early from what I've seen.

ESPN has Vols signees Jalen Johnson & Grant Williams ranked between 101-110 by my count, Kwe Parker is somewhere between 114-130.

Good stuff.

Wierd most expected jumps from our recruits but very few expected Williams to get the biggest bump.

Surprised fulk didn't get mentioned

Three 4* players in a class? How is there not more talk about this? We haven't had that happen since when?

Does espn do team rankings?

Surely we are in decent shape with them since they like our players it seems

Some of the rankings are behind a pay wall and I'm not sure if team rankings have been updated. I'm assuming these guys just got recent bumps to 4*.

Most of the star gazers only come out to complain. Ha

Should also give a slight composite bump on 247, even if the other sites don't follow suit. Kinda surprised Bone wasn't bumped with them tho.

For whatever reason, ESPN has almost nothing on Bone.

I heard an interview with an espn guy the other day and the impression I got was they were really trying to take things serious now but it was a work in progress. I assumed that meant they were under staffed and seeing prospects was sporadic

Just the impression I got. He talked about all these 3 guys
