On delarosa, the mins calculation looks screwy. They have him down for one minute in games where he scored 15, 12 and 18. That's some serious offensive efficiency. 👍

I will say this any stats at a juco in any sport are hard to except as gospel. I wouldn't trust them

Recent article mentioned him averaging pretty similar minutes, and game recaps by newspapers have him typically playing 12-18 minutes.

They likely basing their info off of the stats

Who knows what is right but germs makes a great point in his post

Correct, I'm sure the guys at the games writing summaries due that night, are basing their stats used off a website that sometimes doesn't update their stats for days, seems likely.

Juco basktball has a beat writer at every game?

Surely you don't believe that

Not at all, the school has a paper which does write ups for the games, that's what I was referring to. You're suggesting these writers are getting stats for their articles off a website which doesn't update its stats sometimes for days, doesn't seem possible?

Well heck yea it's possible and probably especially when they are giving season averages.

Where else would they get those averages?

What are you talking about? The school paper does write ups for his teams games, they include stats for the games, which often include minutes played, if njcaa.com doesn't have those stats available for days how is the paper getting ahold of them that night? You realize what you're saying makes zero sense, right?

Lol

The Jc website stats are made up of box scores submitted from the schools. Many of the schools don't have support staff to keep those up to date and it's on the coach to submit them. That's why germ pointed out a huge flaw in one of the boxes.

Unless you are suggesting a student news paper is keeping the official books every game then they are using the same stats that end up on the national website.

I have a really good friend that coaches juco. He complains all the time about that stat stuff having to be sent over and him having no help with it

I'd say points, rebounds, shooting pct are pretty reliable. Other stuff, like minutes, are hit or miss.

Almost all high schools have a person who keeps stats, if not 2, you're telling me a JUCO that will draw HM coaches don't have these same people? It's not as if the school isn't reporting anything, they're reporting FGA-FGM, points, rebounds, etc. yet you wanna accept all those and dismiss the minutes played they report?

Yes they have usually a student manager keep the stats and transfering them to the stat format is the issue I am told by JC coaches

As for your other question. I have no idea his minutes but I wouldn't bet the stats online are completely accurate. It's a Toss up
