When a kid says he can't make it up for an unofficial from Atlanta less than a week before he is deciding, the recruiting staff has done a horrible job or he or someone else was looking for a reason to stay away.
I doubt seriously an experienced staff couldn't find him a ride so my guess is local pressure kept him in Atlanta for the weekend. I liked him as a prospect but there are always a lot of good wing players around and he wasn't elite. I would like to get Fukerson at this point. I am curious to see him as there seems to be a lot of different opinions on his potential
YEP. Recruiting has always been "dirty." To some extent.Calls are made to "relevant people " to help with unofficial visits all the time. I don't know the current rules.
There are football players who are taking unofficial visits every weekend somewhere. They all don't have cars or money. Coaches, family members, AAU folks, friends etc get them there. Coaches or their proxies are involved behind the scenes. All the unofficial visitors we had this weekend didn't just show up. There was some contact beyond telling the kid , we would like you to come to UGA game. I
I have no knowledge of anything currently being done by any staff but I know how recruiting has always worked. I doubt it has changed.
Well our last coach resorted to tactics like those, and that went really well for everyone involved :crazy:Calls are made to "relevant people " to help with unofficial visits all the time. I don't know the current rules.

Rob Lewis basically said that when Tennessee got the commitment from Jalen Johnson that scared Josh Okogie away. At this point I think Fulkerson is the one they really want and that gives them 3 for the fall signing period unless Williams or a Bruno or someone else all of a sudden decided to come on board. That would give them 2 left for the spring which they may be doing. I will listen to what BTO or some others think.
Not buying what VQ is saying AGAIN!
Last week the kid said his mind was made up and he would announce on the following Tuesday.
Then a few days before his announcement Johnson commits.
In order for VQ to be correct he changed his mind.
I don't buy that and also don't think Vq has any idea wth they are doing under this staff. The past few months prove that
I sure hope he wins, because recruiting news is and has been too quiet. What news we have had has not been impressive either. I just mention this out of frustration, because while I do not follow basketball recruiting as closely as football, every time I look for recruiting info, there as not been any (positive) news.
Just in case you missed it here's some highlights of JJ

Did you not see that Jalen Johnson committed? A kid that balled out this summer and will more than likely be ranked in the top 100 and will be a 4 star?

Watch these and if they don't get you excited, idk what to tell you lol. This kid lives above the rim. He has a ton of potential and is trending up.
I am extremely happy we got his commitment but is he the kind of talent you build a large recruiting class around?
I think that is the question.
No he's not but I didn't expect that we would land one this early. I think 2017 and beyond is when we can reasonably expect for coach Barnes to have built some relationships. I think this class will be a solid foundation for some great players. I don't think Bone will be a star but I think Jalen has a potential to be one. He has the athleticism to be one, but does he have the work ethic? Who knows. We all didn't expect Richarson to be one, I know several were complaining when CCM took him over Kevin Ware because he had an extra star above his name.
Would love to know what happened with turner but he should be fine next yearReally impressive!!
I like he can handle the ball, he like most will just have to put on some weight.
We need a PF/C bad though imo.
EDIT: Maybe pg too, why was Turner not able to play, and will he play next year or what is his situation?
