Not sure he is a grad transfer, but Nick King from Memphis is transferring, I know we offered him out of high school. 6 7 wing top 100 player would be a huge get!
Ok so Rob Gray is for sure visiting tomorrow, and Memphis April 11th. If all goes well however do we think he commits to us after his visit tomorrow? Are we the favorites to land him?
I'd say so, with relatives in the city and such but nothing is for sure so hope we make sure he feels at home here. Did he move his visit up or was that another guy? (If so then even better news)
Dismissed? Must be something pretty worrisome for a player of that caliber to be cut loose. He took a shot with a problem child last year and it failed miserably. Just don't see DT taking that chance again anytime soon. IMO the short term gain isn't worth the risk. Can't allow cancer in the locker room or any threat to DTs stature in the eyes of his players. A single bad egg can cause a great deal of damage.
Rob Gray is the one who moved his visit up. Actually now that I think of it he originally had his scheduled for April 10th, so he could go spend a day at Tennessee and then head on over to Memphis. So really that does make it seem like he wants to be at Tennessee. He may not take that final visit to Memphis now.
What exactly can a coach do during the dead period? Make texts only? Maybe a daily call? No face to face contact?
New Tennessee head basketball coach Rick Barnes is in just his third day on the job but he already is significantly upgrading the Vols recruiting efforts. He appears to have a good shot at landing three highly touted players when the spring signing period commences April 15.
They are:
-Ray Kasongo, a 6-foot-9, 235-pound junior college power forward from College of Southern Idaho.
-Kobie Eubanks, a 6-foot-5, 210-pound shooting guard from Elev-8 Sports Institute in Delray Beach, Florida.
-Marcus LoVett, a 5-foot-11, 165-pound point guard from Morgan Park High in Chicago.
