Donnie Tyndall was a at New Mexico Junior College last night seeing a trio of guys that CC Hoops wrote about toward the end of last week. Two of the guys getting love last night are teammates while the other is perhaps the most coveted of the three. Tennessee is apparently set to put the hard press on at least two of the three guys they've been interested in from that one club alone. I expect Tennessee to sign 3 in the spring. If you're doing the math, that means the Vols will have to get creative or there's someone on the roster that doesn't figure to be there in a few months. Kimani Jackson
Tennessee was seeing PG Rob Gray last night. It would alleviate a lot of problems if UT could land him for next year. This is a guy not afraid to have the ball in his hands at the end of game. A great ball handler that would really solidify things. Gray is a Tyndall type of player. Tougher than nails. You can book that. TB

Please don't what? Look him up, California is the favorite to land him, I didn't even bring the player up, what's the issue, thought this was a recruiting discussion thread?

Are there any rumblings about transfers leaving the Vols? Reese? Baulkman?

There's not been anything, most likely seems that Reese is on pace to graduate and transfer elsewhere. Typically you don't see a JUCO come in and transfer out for his senior season making him have to sit a year, so that eliminated Punter and Baulkman most likely. You would think that Tyndall likely won't run off any of his guys so that eliminates Mostella, Owens, McGhee and Carmichael most likely, although I will say one of the 3 freshman posts could say they want out because of the log jam. You doubt Moore going into his senior year would, that just leaves Hubbs, hard to know but hard to imagine him leaving and sitting out now, seems he would've left with the change.

In my opinion from most likely to least likely...

Reese
Mostella
Owens
McGhee
Carmichael
Hubbs
Baulkman
Punter
Moore

Reese definitely seems like the lead candidate. I only said Baulkman because of the logjam at the wing. He has a chance to either get lost in the rotation again or be a huge piece as a 3 pt shooter. Hopefully a year healthy and in the conditioning program will help him.

I agree and that's why we aren't making the tourney......the point is to upgrade

I just don't wanna get rid of Reese lol he's an important part of the team and he's a junior will be a senior, we could use a guy like him for atleast 7 minutes

I don't necessarily want him gone but I'm all for upgrading our talent where we can

How the minutes are distributed tonight could be a hint. Mostella has struggled to learn the defense and is back to making low percentage, forced passes. Reese, however, wasn't a CDT recruit. Baulkman is hurt, but he is getting easily winded.

Another possibility is one could become a walk-on, but that would be a long shot. Plus it would bring the NCAA compliance people all over again.

Reese is not very good. It's hard to imagine with a year to improve and grow that Willie/Jabari/Tariq/possibly even Schofield at the 4 don't take all of his minutes. Not to mention the likely addition of a grad or juco transfer.

He's looking pretty solid tonight. Not saying he's good just saying he's looking good.
