this is how we ranked in recruiting classes the last few years....

2011..13th
2010..9th
2009..10th
2008..35th!

so the last 3 years we have had top 13 or better but you guys insist that we have a lack of depth and talent...i call bs, seems like we have a lack of ability to do something with the talent we have been getting. all you guys like to point to facts when somebody points the finger at coaching so whats your excuse for us being so pitiful the last 2 years with this much talent coming into the system? does anybody remember what excuses were used last year when we went 6-7?

The thing is, that 2009 class has less than half of the players still here. Thank you LK.

Rivals rated the 2009 class the biggest bust in history...

Rivals.com Football Recruiting - Rivals at 10: Most disappointing classes

1. Tennessee 2009
Coach: Lane Kiffin
Class rank: 10th
Five-star signees: 2 (RB Bryce Brown and S Janzen Jackson)
Buzz: Vols fans had reason to be ecstatic about this class, the only one put together by Lane Kiffin. But it hasn't worked out: There were 22 signees in this class, and nine already are gone and just six are expected to play key roles this fall. The nation's top overall prospect, RB Bryce Brown, decided on Tennessee well after signing day, while five-star DB Janzen Jackson switched his pledge late from LSU. Brown has since transferred to Kansas State, while Jackson - while talented - has had a checkered career because of off-field issues. WR Nu'Keese Richardson and DB Mike Edwards were charged with armed robbery and dismissed from the team. The Vols lost another running back from the class when former Rivals100 prospect David Oku decided to transfer after last season.

Do you ever check your facts before blathering... or do you get off on looking like a complete fool?

The op should send his coaching resume in to the utk athletics department. looking at his post history, sounds likes he has it all figured out and could have us winning a nc next year.

Wow. What a stupid thread. Do yourself a favor, op, and never post again. Look at the current roster, and tell us who you think is an SEC caliber upperclassman, a junior or senior besides Malik Jackson.

there was a thread about which guys were gonna be honored on SR day .. those guys are VFL and deserve a standing O, but key contributors are few and far between on that list, (not many more on the JR list in the same thread)
