Not on Scout. Benn has some frontrunners at this point and UT is not among them. King doesn't show any frontrunner.

I have a Gold Rivals sub and trust me we are still in the running for both of them. Scout's football coverage is not very deep and current.

Not saying we are front runner for either, but still in the running definately.

According to Scout Chris Donald has it down to two (no real surprise). It will be UT vs. ND. I am becoming more curious about Rae Sykes.

The last article I read on him, they said he had a UT wristband on. I know that doesn't mean much, but it's something I guess.

I just finished reading an article on Bo Williams.

The 6'1 212 RB (4.48 40) said that he was impressed with his visit to Tennessee. He said it was bigger and better than what he expected. He said that he really liked the atmosphere and the people were very respectful.

He also talked about his special bond to Trooper Taylor and Troop's 10 year old son Blaise. Williams said that Blaise text messages him every day. He said that has been a new experience for him.

"I was shocked because Blaise actually knows about me, he knows my school, position, my yards; he looked at my film."

"When he saw me he was like, 'It's Bo,' and gave me a hug. It's like we're brothers. It's so much fun and exciting to see a smile on a kid's face that really looks up to someone."

Williams is being recruited by over 50 schools including UT, UF, FSU, Auburn, LSU, Pitt and Nebraska.

If we land him, I'm going to start my "raise for Blaise" campaign.

Patrick Crump will play at Bama. I did not really think we had much of a shot at this 3* OL since he had relatives who played for the Tide. Guess my suspicion was correct.

There is conflicting information out there. A Rivals report of June 11, says that Paige and Luther Davis are a package deal. Davis is down to Florida State, Southern California, and LSU. Supposedly, out of those three, Paige would go to FSU or LSU, so it is between those schools. On the other hand, a Scout article from June 28 says that Paige is down to six schools and UT is one of them. I'd say that at best we are on the ouside looking in, but we're not completely out of the hunt yet.

The recruiting picture would change completely if UT would make it back to the SEC champ. game and win a good bowl game. Anything close to last year, and it would be another subpar recruiting year. I think the recruiting picture is too premature at this point. Otherwise Fulmer may be where he was last year with some kids who "flat out lied."

Donald reminds me more of Leonard Little than Al Wilson because of his closing spee. Either way, he is stout.

Text messages from coaches don't even constitute an NCAA violation. I've seen tons of stories on this problem.

Hence, even more reason it wouldn't be a violation. It's the same as if I texted Joe Blow (whose a pretty damn good LB).

As a season ticket holder, I get a letter and some literature from UT every year explaining that if I contact any prospective student athlete, it's an NCAA violation. If I'm considered a "representative of UT's athletic interests" by the NCAA, I'm pretty sure the offspring of coaches are also.

I'm not sure if the kid would be. I guess the NCAA knows, though.

So he's only allowed to get text messages from coaches and nobody else? Whatever happened to fair and flexible? :crazy:
