Word is he has been taken aback this year at UT and as a HC. Sounds like he realized he needs a more modern system on offense. Saw a lot with what Locksley ran at Bama and the modern concepts his old boss ran and is trying to get ahead of the rest of the sec. Knows he cant run smash mouth and outscore teams.
How can you get a head coaching job in the SEC and not know this. Football evolved years ago now. Can’t run pro style circa 2005 and expect to win against superior athletes running more robust offenses. This is one of the more sickening things about watching Pruitts offense last year.
Let's hope so.Word is he has been taken aback this year at UT and as a HC. Sounds like he realized he needs a more modern system on offense. What is more confusing is that Bama evolved too starting with Kiffins tenure, who also evolved and modernized his philosophy. Pruitt is probably a better pure football coach than Smartt, but Smartt was smart enough to bring in an experienced and proven OC and let him do his thing. This will be Pruitts downfall if he chokes on this hire.
Then why didnt he do that this past season?Sounds like Pruitt knows he just doesn't have the personnel to run smash mouth right now. If this is true it is encouraging that he is willing to mold his philosophy to fit with the team he has. That is what good coaches do. They don't try to fit a square peg in a round hole.
Well done!::: Channels inner Nick Cage from National Treasure :::
“someone who knows how to succeed on offense”....hmmm.....succeed....like a seed.......growth from a seed.....like a tree........offense....fence....like a yard......and a tree......yards with trees.......that means dog! What is a dog......hmmmmm....man's best friend........

I don't have a feeling for Pruitt yet and don't care that people voice legitimate concerns but this seems hyperbolic.Like he did this season.
UGA runs old school smash mouth ball. They have a stable of 5* OL and RBs. 25% of the top 100 players are on UGA and Bama for 2019. UGA playcalling is very very simple. Chaney is not the reason for their success, recruiting is. Same for Saban. Pruitt has proven he can get it done at 3 universities if he has the players. He is taking his time for a creative OC.What is more confusing is that Bama evolved too starting with Kiffins tenure, who also evolved and modernized his philosophy. Yep, I fell for the clickbait just to see if there's any substance. Nope. Doubtful that CJP is telling teenagers who is going to be OC.Nice user name. As for the OP, i didnt see anything that hinted at anything. What is he suppose to tell offensive playmakers? That was a clickbait title and article. Nothing can be made from that. Jmo

OC hire didn't matter for Smart. You saw that in 2016, they took a step back!! THEN Smart brought in back to back top-3 classes. That is all that matters. Talent makes everyone look like a genius.
Unfortunately Pruitt isn’t bringing in top 3 or top 5 classes. Without that you can’t run smash mouth as effectively. Even Alabama is willing to throw the ball around more once they landed and excellent QB. At least Pruitt appears to be attempting to adapt.
"Pruitt has his eye on someone that knows how to succed on offense"
Lol, groundbreaking stuff there.....thats some real insight and really norrows it down. It sounds like he is looking for an offensive minded coach to fill the offensive coordinator vacancy. Can anyone confirm?
