Rece Davis says we need to simmer down

How many of you would be happy if we hired Nick Saban?

No, this is not a trap question. He seems to be the most productive coach out there.

It amazes me how many people are judging the fans for booing. Give me something to cheer about and I will happily stop booing. Give me a damn break.

It hurts to be a Tennessee Vol

I'm sure Rece just has Tennessee's best interests in mind. He doesn't want you guys to make a rash decision concerning a coaching change without thinking things through first.

:lolabove:

What is an eastern division crown anyway? That's just some crap, seriously. Second place = first loser. I would feel better about this if we were a bottom-rung, 5 wins a season team, but we're not.

We currently have 2 whole classes of individuals (Crompton's recruting class and Berry's recruiting class) that were ranked in the top 10 of recruiting nationally, and we lost to UCLA 3 weeks ago. We got pounded by Cal, Alabama, and now Florida twice.

Rece Davis can eat an elephant. He has his reputation built into a contracted monetary figure, and he also has his allegiance to an archrival of ours. His opinions are worth crap. I could mix up his words with some leaves and other yard debris, fertilize my garden, and grow some beautiful plants and flowers. Otherwise, it's all halotosis and he needs to brush his teeth.

I thought this guy had a clue. Oh well. He went to Bama.

'simmer down' is a stupid euphemism.

In cooking, when you simmer down, you thicken and intensify flavor.

Think Rece is advocating that we intensify our emotions?..

i saw that yesterday and figured it would envoke some response here.

i don't have any real problem with Davis or his comment per se, but, i do find it a bit hypocritical to tout last year's SEC East Title as a reason to keep him, when we were in the process of winning the East last year, we were told time and time again about how GA was the leader in the East. That GA was the team that should have been playing LSU and further that the game that kept GA out of the C'ship game last year was the South Carolina game.

last year, when we won the East, there was no real consensus that we were the best team in the East.

to now use that as the reason to keep him, just doens't wash. last year the national media knew what we knew.

i have a feeling it won't be long before they do again.

What further discredits that statement is that we didn't exactly knock down the door and take the east.

that's my point. they all assumed we'd lose at some point and GA would play LSU. we didn't lose, and there was a sense of "well GA should be playing LSU anyway, they're the better team".
