Reasons to stay 'til the end against Bama

I would expect nothing less from a yanks fan

Truth is, I don't really care for baseball. I start paying attention in October if the yanks are involved...otherwise I don't care much. So calling me a Yankees "fan" is a bit of a stretch.

My wife and I stayed 'till the end in '08. Felt like we were in Bryant-Denny.

Saw Phil the next day at the Copper Cellar and said "hi." :hi: Told my wife: "I bet he gets fired."

But if I had known he was gonna lose homecoming to Wyoming, I wouldn't have felt so bad about it.

"People think I'm the greatest damn coach in the world," said the great Bear Bryant, "but Neyland taught me everything I know."

This quote always makes me happy this time of year! BUCK FAMA!

Where did you find this quote. is this a legit quote? I love it, but wanna make sure he really said it before I am sending to all my Bammer pals! LOL

Im working google but cant find anything saying Bear said it!

I guess you could, the Braves fans don't even bother to show up.

funny you say that now, considering your entire stadium just emptied, for the second straight night, in the playoffs. EMBARRASSING!

Braves fans dont have to leave early....the never arrive to begin with. Tip your cap the Rangers they are laying a beatdown on the Yanks. But you are searchign to compare fans leaving early in an a** whippin to Braves fans with 1000s of tickets available at the start of a playoff game!

If the Rangers do advance I'll definitely be pulling for them to win it all.

Amen! I love the Yankees. But when you get waxed like this, you just tip your cap and move on. Rangers are freakin killing right now. Tonight the Yanks have left what 98 runners on base? LOL cant win doing that!

The Bear coached against Bob Neyland's Tennessee teams seven times and never beat him. "I never beat him," he said, "but I learned a lot from playing him."

This quote is apparently from the biography "The Last Coach: A Life of Paul "Bear" Bryant." I've never read the book myself, but there are several sources on the internet that cite it.

I always stay until the Waltz.

You are not getting out of your parking lot by rushing anyway.

Some people left the Arkansas game...And the Alabama game we came back and won 2 years before that.

I always stay, no matter who, no matter what.

When I was a kid we were about 14 - 17 pts down with about 5 min to go I guess ( if you think traffic's bad now, you should have seen it mid '60's)! Anyway, we got to the top and started down the ramp - big cheer. Then we get down to the street - another big cheer! We get to the car and John ward is crowing about our victory. Dad was pretty sheepish...

So now I always stay no matter what. MY TEAM'S DOWN THERE DAMMIT, THEY NEED ME!!!!

I think they already have........ 1) They committed to play here 2) They workout and train all year long.

Us fans expect (hope) each player commits theirselves all year long to be the best they can be so we can be SEC or National Champions. And if some players make it to the NFL we want them to still be loyal and say "I'm from the University of Tennessee" (and not their high school) when they are on TV.

So, all we (the fans) have to do is stay in our seats all game and provide support? We have the easy part don't you think???

GO VOLS!

I disagree. The players are PAID to be there, train, and be the best (scholarship, room, board, etc). The fans must pay to watch the game. They are the ones who MUST stay till the end. The fans have a choice.

One of those be a true fan threads, nice. Some people would leave if Tennessee were winning.

I always stay till the end. If we are down by 2 scores or more and we get to the last minute or so of the game I start to mosey out, but I am typically there till less than 2:00 minutes in the game no matter the score. Even games like the Oregon game and Bama 08.

We always stay until the very end no matter the score. We usually stick around even longer than that to give the traffic more time to thin out. I was not at the game in '08 so i hope I do not have to listen to that rammer jammer crap at the end. If they win and they do that I think they should turn up our PA system as loud as possible and have our band play Rocky Top and drown them out. They have to do something. There's no way that can happen in our stadium again.

You wanna help your team and feel like part of the team? This is how!

IF we lose, and we stay till the end cheering no matter what, imagine what that says to the recruits that will be there. Imagine what it means to the players who are coming back. Part of a great football tradition is great fans. Its easy to be there in the winning times but this kind of thing is what sets you apart. This is one of the few ways WE can make a difference. This is how we help our VOLS win, now and later!!!

BUCKFAMA and BLOWTIDEBLOW!!!!

From a Vol perspective this post is on the right track. Naturally I hope the score is such that Vol fans decide to leave early.

IMO projections like 30K+ Bama fans in Neyland are off the wall. However, if enough Vol fans leave, 20K loud Bama fans seems like a stadium take-over.

Wish I could be there.
