1. After Golesh left, many wondered if our offense could return to '22. It has.

2. Prior to this game, the most Heupel scored against UGA is 17, and this is the closest game he's played against Kirby

3. We were down 4 defensive starters, having half would have resulted in a victory.

4. JA and the receivers are in sync and should only develop a greater chemistry.

5. These WRs are much better than 23 and 24

6. Caleb Herring will be a problem for years to come.

7. This was always a rebuilding year. For some reason, that's hard to take. Our talent is young and our future is bright!

8. Finally, with all the crap happening in the world, we got to watch our team play a dang competitive game. I'm thankful for these guys providing a distraction and dang proud of them. We'll be just fine.

Edit: Forgot to add that everyone was ready to fire Elarbee last year because he never developed a HS kid to start for Tennessee. I present to you Jesse Perry and Sham Umarov

I have no problem with the idea of it being a "transition" year, I'm just struggling to grasp how we can build off the transition when our best offensive addition will be leaving after the end of the season. And with NIL and the portal and everything, I'm not sure how much carries over year to year. Tennessee for instance won't be fielding this team next year. I hope they'll have something at least comparable to start, but we won't have a good feel for that until next season. College football has become a merry-go-round of players, they come and go each season. You break down, rebuild each year, and hopefully take advantage when you have a good team. I'm not as sure how much carries over any more. And that's why I don't know about transitions. I think UGA, Alabama, Clemson, etc., they had eras before NIL really ripped up the continuity of the sport. Not so sure eras exist now. I think you have good years and bad years, and you have to take advantage of good years. Very much like the NFL. No dynasties, no periods of sustained success. Just ups and downs.

That said, the ones at the top have sustained their momentum - for now - through money and institutional moment. I suspect it'll take gobs of money to do that in the future. So the key will be spending more than anyone else.

Felt like a mini Bama game.

For me the biggest positive is that Joey Aguilar looked like The Guy. Made some mistakes, went cold for a bit, but he made a bunch of plays than Joe and Nico have never made in their lives. That is probably the best defense we will play all year, and he was game for it.

And had a couple DBs out. That hurt alot. What is wrong with Sanders the 5* O-lineman.

Aside from Aguilar, Thomas, and Kitselman, we could return everyone on offense next year (Brazzell and Heard could leave, and who knows with the portal). Of course QB is a big question mark, but theoretically we should have a replacement, ignoring the fact we thought that with Hooker.

Heupel works a miracle with Joey A this year and we should be able to get any transfer QB we want going forward. Dont you know the kid from Kstate, Arizona state etc wish they would have took the opportunity now

I’m not saying we can’t get a good QB, but next year I think we will be leaning on one of the recruits. Doubt we will be in the transfer market for anything more than a 3rd stringer

Bro.......you serious? He beat 2-top 25 teams including Gators at the swamp man. Trust me, down here theyre little brother to the big 3. There's a lot of murmur that they want him for HC of UF WHEN sunbelt Billy gets the axe.

He beat UF 18-16 I don’t think it was because offense genius lol. Not saying he’s a bad HC or anything. I think he’s a promising one. Just pointing out his offense ain’t exactly killing it this year.

Nobody should be pissed. This was such an awesome game.. the drop off after the 21 point stampede is fine… I don’t like it but it’s fine. We played UGA. That was our game.. that was fun… we will get the next time. I know we need heup to beat UGA and we almost just did with a true freshman corner and a missed PI.

IMO that was awesome today

I do think having some key defensive pieces missing hurt, but who knows. I'm gonna give props, finally, to the OL. We ran decently on a Georgia D....but more importantly I saw Joey with a lot of time to throw on several plays. I've never felt I could say that with a GA D in the past. Good things happen with a really good OL. And they'll likely only get better.

Exactly. I doubt anyone will go undefeated in CFB this year. Not even Georgia. It's not a season backbreaker. In fact, I hate to use this term but so long as we can finish 10-2 or 11-1 the CFP committee would view this as a "good loss" as long as Georgia doesn't crap the bed the rest of the year.
