REASONABLE EXPECTATIOS for 2016

Bravo. Finally we agree on something.

8-4 was the minimum expectation for 2015 and we hit it. And like you said, considering the fashion in which we lost those games, we should've been much better than 8-4 this year.

In 2016, the floor for expectations should be 10-2 and an eastern division title. We have to win the East and be in Atlanta. Period. No excuses.

This team has the talent, depth, and experience to win the national title in 2016. Folks need to stop running away from expectations.

Completely agree that people should hold high expectations. I actually thought 9-3 was the legit target in 2015....figured we'd have 6 easy opponents and 6 difficult ones (turned out there were only 5 since Missouri was really bad) and that we'd win all 6 of the easy ones and split/go 3-3 vs the tough ones. Unfortunately, we went 1-4 vs our 5 most difficult opponents.

Also agree that 8-4 was the minimum this past year so we did that....and we did NOT exceed expectations like some have said. No way, not once we saw how the season played out and how good this team actually was.

Yep, 10-2 is the minimum fir 2016 and anything less than that and a likely rematch vs Bama in Atlanta will be a poor season. Period.

Tennessee will win the East, but it won't be a rematch vs Bama... It'll be a game vs Ole Miss!

Ole Miss losing a lot of studs next year. Bama is too. Which team can withstand those losses better? We'll see. I could see Freeze breaking through given that Kelly is back and is easily the best returning QB in the SEC.

West will be interesting next year. However, this will be the first time that Bama doesn't have an amazing RB in the stable. Bo Scarborough maybe? Plus they've lost half their coaches and will have quarterback questions. I see this as an Alabama rebuilding year...

LSU could be good if they can get their QB issues resolved... they've got pretty much everyone coming back.

Ole Miss is losing some key players (Treadwell, namely), but like you said, they've got Chad Kelly, and that guy Core has emerged as a WR star. I say OM mainly due to the questions circling the other teams and the return of Kelly.

9-10 win regular season, contend for the east and a nice bowl trip.

Ole Miss is losing a lot more than just Treadwell, which is a big loss in and of itself. They also lose the top OT in the country in Laremy Tunsil, the top (supposedly) DT in the country in Robert Nkemdiche, their top RB Jaylen Walton and Trae Elston, one of their DBs. And those are just the high profile guys. They'll have a lot to replace. Thst bring said, Freeze is doing a great job with that program and I have no doubt that they'll challenge Bama again for the West.

I saw somewhere that there are those that expect 10-11 rebels to be drafted this coming draft.

that's ridiculous.

suffice to say, i think Ole Miss may have a little bit of a fall back to reality. i don't think they'll suck. but i don't see them 10+ wins again next year.

i expect Auburn, LSU and Arkansas all to move up, MSU to fall, Ole Miss to step back and Bama to, well, Bama....no idea what to expect from aTm.

I wish anyone but Alabama would win west bc I don't want to rematch them in particular after we beat them in Knoxville. Yeah I said it. Deal with it.

I personally think anything less than 9 wins would be disappointing. The four tough games are Bama, Florida (no matter how much they suck they have Tennessee's number), Georgia, and A&M. That is unless Fuentes comes out of the gate roaring and turns VT around instantly. Assuming that doesn't happen, out of those four, Tennessee really should split those at the very least. I believe this team has a shot of running the table on those four, but I'm not expecting it. Heck if they didn't crap the bed against Arkansas, this years team would have been 9-3, so I don't think expecting 9 wins is out of scope at all.

They "crapped the bed" - to use your term- more against UF than they did against Arkansas.

That school just keeps hitting a ceiling just short of making it to Atlanta (and then falling back down).

It'd certainly be a first for them.

This is the reasonable expectation.

This, plus OBLITERATE Florida.

Any prediction for any team that includes a championship is utter garbage.

My REASONABLE expectations are 10-2 at best, 9-3 at worst. I know we'll be good but that stretch with Florida, Georgia, Texas A&M, and Alabama will be brutal. Coming out of that stretch 2-2 would be a good accomplishment. 1-3 would be very possible and 3-1 or better would be beyond my wildest dreams.

all our players return, I think 12-0 is a real possibility.
Even without Sutton I think 11-1, 12-0 is possible barring injuries and getting a few breaks along the way.

I can tell we are climbing the ladder of expectations, when I can actually ponder the thought below.

Imagine beating Bama TWICE in one season! It sure would help the misery of the last 7-8 years.

I'd love for it play out like this, first a hard fought, back and forth game that we pull out at the end. Then, after all the gnashing of teeth about the SEC champ game, we blow their doors off!

Chances of the SEC Championship being permanent cross-divisional game rematches are pretty low, though.

8-4 next year would be a failure, period.

True, but would give the boys a ton of pride/momentum heading into the playoffs (and us for the off season!) I guess that's more of a strong desire than a reasonable expectation...

On the record, I say reasonable expectations are 9-10 regular season wins and spending most of the season in the driver's seat to be the winner of the SEC east.
