Our season is over.
We won big against a #12/13 ranked team in our bowl appearance. We made a statement and our coaches, fans, and players are pleased.
Going forward, what is a "reasonable" expectation for our teams accomplishments in the 2016/2017 season considering next years schedule?.

Minimum 10 regular season wins, SEC East title/SEC championship game. Beating one of Florida or Alabama is a must

We smoked the big10 once again, lets be honest.

Vols have a ridiculous amount of talent coming back. Maybe not the ideal amount of depth, but we can over match any single position.

I EXPECT to be playing in ATL for the Sec championship. That's very reasonable and attainable. We get there and let the chips fall where they may fall.

10-2 is very reasonable expectations for Tennessee in 2016. I don't think Tennessee will lose in College Station to Texas A&M with the dumpster fire they've become. The two losses will probably be Georgia and Alabama. I think 2016 is the season Tennessee finally gets a win over Florida.

We return a talented experienced team with a senior QB. Florida, Georgia, Missouri, South Carolina, and Kentucky are in turmoil. 10 wins, is a must, and anything short of Atlanta is a major disappointment. Just being honest. We've quieted all of the guys for the last two years saying that we should win the east, but there is no legitimate way to say we should not be in Atlanta next year. Alabama will still be Alabama, but with a new QB, so who knows there, but the rest are games in which we will be favored Guys! Honestly, this is Butch's nightmare ha! But this is what he has been working for since he arrived, and so have we! Go Vols!!!

I'll believe a win against UF when I see it. I hope we can be in the mix for the east title. Some breaks go our way and we stay healthy, we might win the east. Would love a trip to Atlanta. Biggest questions are what changes will we face on the coaching staff, which players leave early if any, and how well we finish in recruiting this year.

If we're going to be a serious player on the national scene, we have to find another TE and the passing game must make great strides in the off season. Dobbs and the WR's need to take several large steps for us to be all we could be in 2016.

We smoked a slow Iowa team and the hype began. Yes we lost 4 games to 2 really good teams. 1 good team that only shows up 1/2 the season. And Florida who could bring the cheer squad and always beat us. So beating another slow BIG 10 team doesn't over excite me. I predict losses to Alabama. Florida and Texas A&M. And maybe Georgia. Doesn't mean it will happen. 8-4 would suck. 9-3 would be disappointing. 10-2 would be interesting. 11-1 would be huge. 12-0 would shock half the country.

I have been realistic and happy with our steady progress.
I feel barring some weird turn of events, the East should happen next year.

Reasonable expectations are for UT to beat UF in Knoxville, win at least ten games, and win the SEC East. If we can get to the SEC Championship game, then there is a decent shot to go to the playoffs. I do not think we are an the right level to expect a playoff berth but it is a possibility. A 9-3 regular season would not be horrible but I would be slightly disappointed by it.

It's reasonable to assume we go to Atlanta. 9-3 or 10-2 needs to happen. Remember that we lose a lot in 2017. Need to close out this class and have a great year to continue recruiting well.

Need to wait and see who goes to the NFL draft before a reasonable answer can be given

What's up VolNation - I've been lurking on these forums for a while now. Figured I'd jump in and contribute!

I think we can reasonably expect to be in ATL competing for an SEC championship in 2016. The east is ours for the taking.

From your mouth to God's ear! I'd love to see Tennessee playing for the SEC Championship in 2016.:salute::thumbsup:

I think a 9 win regular season needs to be the low end. It will mean another successful season and more growth. It also means UT likely loses the big rival games again. That would suck horribly once again, but doesn't necessarily mean the season wouldn't be a success....

Personally I would love a minimum 10 win season.....while beating Alabama. I know losing to UF is beyond absurd and ridiculous at this point....but Alabama is the cream of the crop in the conference...THEY MUST BE TAKEN DOWN.....

At least 10 regular season wins and play in Atlanta. Also, must beat Florida.
